GE postponed?

It should be on end Nov 2010 but now postpone to the Saturday of one-week March school holidays.

I think the approach should be one of telling the people the reasons not to vote for the ruling political party, then to persude the people to vote for the alternative party. Please think about this, the voters' decision and thought process is very different in these two different approaches.

I have spoken to many people of various walks of life in my daily activities, they are unhappy with the current policies and current team, but they also said that they havent seen any "capable" candidate in the alternative parties. This is food for thought on the approach taken in persuading and convincing the voters.

Considering that we are both without statistical relevance but due to our kanchionness, let's say we have a statistical error of +-10%, we are actually quite close.

I however doubt that it will be a drop of only 10% at the maximum. There are too many disaffected people from the PAPies' policies. And the response from the PAPies has only compounded their errors.

Whatever it is, let's do our part. Every Singaporean should know that their future and the future of their children has been compromised by the policies of the PAP. ANd the longer the PAP stays in power the larger the number of Singaporeans who will be affected by these policies and the larger the impact on these people.

The next GE is for Singaporeans to vote for Singapore or to vote for the PAP. It has become obvious to many that the PAP no longer shares the same ideals and vision as the majority of Singaporeans. As long as we touch on this and repeat it as often as possible, we can win the next GE.

A lot of people failed to see this point and question the sanity of voters who do not vote for opposition. These are the very same people who failed to understand why Chiam See Tong and Low Thia Khiang can win elections but others can't.

Political awakenings are like this.

Its not a question about sanity of voters, but the maturity level of voters to see beyond...... people for their own good have to manage the political parties through the power vested in them through the vote, and not the other way round, regardless of parties in question.

Sylvia of the WP is impressive and IMO has done a good job asking the correct questions...for a start.....at least now we know the number 3 is a whole number......and 3.7 to the nearest decimal is still the number 3.:D

I've always also been on a 2011 consistently. Except that for a couple of months in Jul/Aug I had the feeling they contemplated 2010 Dec but later shelved it. Now it's clear on 2011 Apr/May to me.

Even though you and I are not octopus or sotong (some may disagree!), seems like we have our tentacles in the right locations. :)

A politician is basically a salesman.

A good politician must be a good salesman.

Once you can understand this, you'll understand 90% of Singapore politics.

If they are unhappy with AP candidates then ask them which PAP minister are they happy with? Ask them which PAP minister has spoken for them? Ask them which PAP minister is qualified for their post based on experience and education? Then educate them that it is the civil service that does most of the work and that MPs and ministers are there to set policies.

ANd if the PAP is known to have a vision and ideals different from the people then it is imperative that we not put the PAP in power because we will always suffer.

Tell them that even Malaysia and Thailand have a better quality of live than us. Tell them that it takes months here to see a government specialist. Hospital beds are in shortage and patients have to sleep along corridors. When an epidemic occurs things will only get so bad it will be painful to watch how we cope.

PAP says we need FTs but then we have to spend $60 billion to build up the MRT to support their existence here. There are other costs that we can't even begin to calculate.

The idea of politics is to vote in people that will set policies that are supported by the masses. The civil service will then be there to carry out the work. But where the PAPies are concerned, there are always contradicting statements and actions. Just look at their cockups and I'm not talking about the floods and YOG. Start with the CPF. Stop at Two. FTs. Jailing and bankrupting opposition until Singaporeans are afraid to join politics, even to join the PAP. ALmost everything the PAP has promised it has broken those promises. CPF, affordable housing, job security.
