TP, come 2016 will likely be a much weaker strong hold for the PAP, regardless w or w/o LKY
so your theory of 'placing an old boy' strategy will not work...bcos the LKY shadow in TP is beyond duplication....

by now; 70-80% of those hard core PAP loyalists in TP are either upstairs/downstairs selling salted duck eggs lah friend!

i can throw a guess now...if things at TP are to remain the same from now till 2016....the papaya will still win..but margin will be 55-56%

Lina Chaim also contest with CST blessing and lost. There is no way CST will endorse any party other than his own for the survival of SPP lies in whether they can win back PP. If SPP can't take back PP in the next GE they can jolly well close shop.

CST is good man and respected by many and SPP will be around only as long as CST is....
 
Was told tat TP residents r quite pissed off with PAP. Bcos its a supposedly pap stronghold. Pap treat them like shit as they know wont get voted out mah. N every 5 min got erp. So ppl getting dulan..but of course i cant confirm. Its just hearsay.

Still good to have LKY around to remind sinkies that once upon a time, his toughness built up sinkie land but none of his successors matched his no nonsense approach to solving lawlessness. He may be old but certainly still alive to know what is going on. He might have made the same mistake of what China Mao did to make his country men suffer miserably. Mao's Cultural Revolution and LKY's flooding of sinkie land with FTsh.

May be LKY does not know that his policy of flooding SG with FTsh will lead to the downfall of the PAP in the coming years. Still, without LKY in 1950s, there would not be a modern SG today.
 
I think its time to put an end to the myth of LKY is responsible for modern Singapore,,,With the current cock ups etc,, it shows those responsible was the more competent Old guards and a more professional civil service.
