Gamblers Beware

For WKS, Shanmugam and LHL, I can't answer for them. For the direct question to me, yes, I think MSK was quite ingenious to have managed to escape. For ISD lapse, I also agree, no excuse.

What does it say of WKS and Shanmugum when MHA/SPF/ISD were outsmarted by a jailed prisoner? shdnt there be any consequence or personal responsibility for such a catastrophic failure?

I think they sacked somebody and demoted somebody or something like that. Really Tracy, ask them, not me, I don't know. I'd like to know too.

OK thanks Trace, I sure sense the lack of transparency and accountability to public. However, in ministries, not only home affairs, it's quite easy and even necessary to classify certain matters state secrets. This is not PAP or Singapore only. It happens with governments, democratic or dictatorial, all over the world. One example is, for example only, say, certain details released may provide information to criminals as to how to break into or break out of government facilities.

yes, they sacked some officers...a definite show of poor leadership..blame your subordinates. The morale of SPF is low...evidence (look at the poor retention rate and the rising crimes rates)

I agree that classification is necessary.

But to abuse that is irresponsible...what's so secretive abt telling why selamat' NOK's homes were not monitored? if it was a honest mistake, just admit it and dun hide it under state secret. any monkey can tell that Shanmugum was evading the issue and not telling the truth

If we can see the lack of tranparency and accpuntability, shd we allow it to carry on ?

i say no...let's stop such decay

Like I've said, I don't really know the details. If it's a monkey ball game, I think WKS has just thrown the ball to Shanmugam. :D

How many countries can match Hiong Gong in incorruptibility? You could be an Ah Ma of meager means and still be able to block the government's plans. Even a billionaire with connections to the CCP had to acquiesce to the ICAC.

Yes, I agree with you that LHL allowed WKS to get off the hook..another poor leadership how by LHL and WKS.

It was under WKS's watch when the Selamat fiasco happened. so if WKS is still in Parliament and still alive, he should have the decency, integrity and responsibility to answer all the Parliamentary questions on that subject and not let Shamugum face the music..It is known as "Leadership by Example".

Every country is laughing at our DPM.
