I have no animosity against him. I for one am not one of those who calls him prataman, regardless of whatever's in his CV about his stint with the Japanese army (ditto LKY). SRN decided to take on the presidency job and so be it. I don't know him personally but I do know something about the presidency job in a system such as ours. Everything the President say or do in public must be according to what's advised by the PM and Cabinet.
True, SRN is a harmless guy..but his Office is much despised.
It's precisely on this point that his Office is so despised..and by extension SRN gets the collateral damage because he was willing to accept such a despised Office.
