Detected through surveillance:

Case 63865 is a 37 year-old male India national who works as a delivery driver with CCG Logistics Pte Ltd. He is asymptomatic, and was detected when he was tested on 27 May as part of Rostered Routine Testing (RRT). His pooled test result came back positive for COVID-19 on the same day. An individual test was done on 28 May, and his test result came back positive for COVID-19 infection on the same day. His earlier tests from RRT – the last being on 13 May – were all negative for COVID-19 infection. His serology test result is positive.

Case 63868 is a 59 year-old male India national who is a retiree. He arrived from India on 25 January to visit his Singaporean child, and served SHN at a dedicated facility until 8 February. His pre-departure test taken in India on 23 January, as well as on-arrival test in Singapore on 25 January, were negative for COVID-19 infection. Another test taken during SHN on 7 February was also negative. He is asymptomatic, and was detected when he took a COVID-19 pre-departure test on 27 May in preparation for his return trip to India. His test result came back positive for COVID-19 infection on 28 May. His serology test result is positive, which is indicative of a past infection. However we have classified this case as locally transmitted and taken all necessary public health actions as we are unable to rule out that he had been infected in Singapore.

Case 63872 is a 22 year-old male Singaporean who works as a warehouse assistant at Keppel Logistics Pte Ltd. He developed a cough and sore throat on 28 May and sought medical treatment at a General Practitioner (GP) clinic on 29 May, where he underwent both an antigen rapid test (ART) and polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test, and was immediately isolated when his ART result came back positive. His PCR test result also came back positive for COVID-19 infection on the same day. His serology test result is negative.

Case 63876 is a 35 year-old male Singaporean who works at Nur Insan. He developed a fever and cough on 29 May and sought medical treatment at a GP clinic on the same day. He underwent both an ART and PCR test, and both test results came back positive for COVID-19 infection on 29 May. His serology test result is negative.

Case 63887 is a 65 year-old female Singaporean who is a homemaker. She developed a fever and sore throat on 29 May, and sought medical treatment at a GP clinic on the same day, where she underwent both an ART and PCR test. Her ART result came back negative, and she stayed at home while waiting for her PCR test result which came back positive for COVID-19 infection on 30 May. Her serology test result is pending.

Case 63883 is a 47 year-old male Malaysia national who works as a kitchen assistant at Hua Zai HK Style Roasted Delights (21 Hougang Street 51). He is a household contact of Cases 638532, 63884, 63885, 63886 and 63896, and was placed on quarantine on 29 May. On the same day, he developed a cough and was tested for COVID-19 on 29 May during quarantine. His test result came back positive for COVID-19 infection on 30 May. His serology test result is negative.

Case 63884 is a 21 year-old male Vietnam national who works as a kitchen assistant at Hua Zai HK Style Roasted Delight Rice Noodle (308 Anchorvale Road). He is a household contact of Cases 63853, 63883,63885, 63886 and 63896, and was placed on quarantine on 29 May. On the same day, he developed a cough. He was tested for COVID-19 in the early hours of 30 May during quarantine, and his result came back positive for COVID-19 infection on the same day. His serology test result is pending.

Case 63885 is a 22 year-old male Malaysia national who works as a kitchen assistant at Hua Zai HK Style Roasted Delights (21 Hougang Street 51). He is a household contact of Cases 63853, 63883, 63884, 63886 and 63896. He developed a cough on 26 May but did not seek medical attention. As he had been identified as a household contact of Case 63853, he was placed on quarantine on 29 May, and was tested for COVID-19 on 29 May during quarantine. His test result came back positive for COVID-19 infection on 30 May. His serology test result is pending.

Case 63886 is a 27 year-old male Malaysia national who works as a kitchen assistant at Hua Zai HK Style Roasted Delight Rice Noodle (308 Anchorvale Road). He is a household contact of Cases 63853, 63883, 63884, 63885 and 63896. He developed loss of taste on 28 May but did not seek medical attention. As he had been identified as a household contact of Case 63853, he was placed on quarantine on 29 May, and was tested for COVID-19 on 29 May during quarantine. His test result came back positive for COVID-19 infection on 30 May, and he developed a cough on the same day. His serology test result is pending.

Case 63874 is a 29 year-old male Singapore Permanent Resident who works as a chef at Rice Garden (308 Anchorvale Road). He is a close contact of Cases 63884 and 63886. He developed a cough and fever on 28 May and sought medical treatment at a GP clinic on the same day, where he was tested for COVID-19. His test result came back positive for COVID-19 infection on 29 May. His serology test result is pending.

Closure of NTUC Foodfare at 308 Anchorvale Road

MOH is investigating cases of COVID-19 infection amongst individuals who work at NTUC Foodfare at 308 Anchorvale Road. Our epidemiological investigations have found that there is likely ongoing transmission at the coffee shop. To break any potential chain of transmission and enable deep cleaning of the premises, NTUC Foodfare at 308 Anchorvale Road has been closed to all members of the public starting from 30 May 2021 and will re-open 14 days later, on 13 June 2021.

To pre-emptively mitigate any potential risk of wider, undetected community transmission, we will also offer free COVID-19 testing for members of the public who had visited 308 Anchorvale Road from 13 May to 30 May. All visitors to 308 Anchorvale Road from 13 May to 30 May are advised to monitor their health closely for 14 days from their date of visit. They are encouraged to visit a Regional Screening Centre or “Swab and Send Home” (SASH) Public Health Preparedness Clinic for a free COVID-19 test.3

Case 63881 is a 25 year-old female Indonesia national who is a foreign domestic worker, and a close contact of Case 637774. She developed a fever, cough and sore throat on 28 May, and sought medical treatment at a GP clinic on 29 May, where she underwent both an ART and PCR test. She was immediately isolated when her ART result came back positive on the same day. Her PCR test result came back positive for COVID-19 infection on 29 May. Her serology test result is pending.

Case 63882 is a 41 year-old female Philippines national who works as a waitress at Erwin’s Gastrobar (8A Marina Boulevard), and was last at work on 28 May. As she had been identified as a contact of Case 638295, she was placed on phone surveillance on 29 May. She is asymptomatic, but visited a GP clinic on the same day to be tested. Her test result came back positive for COVID-19 infection on 30 May. Her serology test result is pending.

Case 63871 is a 38 year-old male Singaporean who works at Pizza Hut (Punggol Plaza) and had last gone to work on 21 May. He is a close contact of Cases 636296, 636697, 636768 and 636829. He underwent an ART and PCR test on 22 May, and both test results came back negative on the same day. As he had been identified as a close contact of Case 63629, he was placed on quarantine on 23 May. He underwent both an ART and PCR test on 28 May, and was immediately isolated when his ART result came back positive. His PCR test result came back positive for COVID-19 infection on 29 May. Case 63863 is a 31 year-old male Singaporean who works in an administrative role at the Central Provident Fund Board and has been working from home. He is a family member and household contact of Cases 63757, 63862 and 63864, and was placed on quarantine on 26 May. He developed a cough on 27 May but did not report his symptom. He was tested for COVID-19 on 28 May during quarantine and his test result came back positive for COVID-19 infection on 29 May. His serology test result is negative.

Case 63864 is a 27 year-old female Singaporean who works as a retail assistant at Lamy (Bugis Junction and Chinatown Point outlets). She is a family member and household contact of Cases 63757, 63862 and 63863, and was placed on quarantine on 26 May. She was tested for COVID-19 on 28 May during quarantine and her test result came back positive for COVID-19 infection on 29 May. She subsequently developed a fever and cough on the same day. As of 31 May 2021, 12pm, the Ministry of Health (MOH) has preliminarily confirmed 16 new cases of locally transmitted COVID-19 infection. 13 are linked to previous cases, amongst whom 11 have already been placed on quarantine, and 2 were detected through surveillance.The remaining 3 are currently unlinked. Based on our investigations so far, the cases are in the community, and there are no new cases in the dormitories.
2. In addition, there are 7 imported cases, who have already been placed on Stay-Home Notice upon arrival in Singapore. Of these, 4 are returning Singaporeans or Singapore Permanent Residents.

3. In total, there are 23 new cases of COVID-19 infection in Singapore today.

He developed a headache on 25 May and sought medical treatment at a hospital on 29 May, where he was tested for COVID-19. His test result came back positive for COVID-19 infection the next day. Case 63908 is a 60 year-old female Singaporean who works in an administrative role at White Sands Primary School. He subsequently developed shortness of breath on 30 May night, and sought medical treatment at Sengkang General Hospital the next day where he was tested for COVID-19. Case 63931 is an 82 year-old male Singaporean who is a retiree. He developed a cough on 20 May but did not seek medical attention. On 27 May, he sought medical treatment at a GP clinic for a bloated stomach and breathing discomfort, and was not tested for COVID-19 as he did not report any acute respiratory infection (ARI) symptoms. On 31 May, he sought medical treatment at the same GP clinic for fever and cough, and was tested for COVID-19. His test result came back positive for COVID-19 infection on 1 June. Case 63932 is a 46 year-old male Singaporean who works as a front desk staff at Hotel Boss. He developed a fever and cough on 30 May and sought medical treatment at a polyclinic on 31 May, where he was administered both an ART and PCR test, and was immediately isolated when his ART test result came back positive on the same day. His PCR test result came back positive for COVID-19 infection on 31 May. His serology test result is pending. Case 63932 received his first dose of COVID-19 vaccine on 1 May, and the second dose on 27 May.

Amongst the 3 imported cases,

• 2 (Cases 63919 and 63926) are Singaporeans who returned from India and the Philippines.
• 1 (Case 63925) is a Short-Term Visit Pass holder who arrived from the Philippines for a work project in Singapore.

They had all already been placed on SHN upon arrival in Singapore and were tested while serving SHN.

Case 63925 is a 38 year-old male Philippines national who arrived from the Philippines on 23 April 2021 for a work project in Singapore, and served SHN at a dedicated facility until 7 May. His pre-departure test taken in the Philippines on 22 April, on-arrival test in Singapore on 23 April, as well as his swab done on 6 May during SHN, were negative for COVID-19. He is asymptomatic, and was detected when he was tested for COVID-19 on 29 May, and his test result came back positive on 30 May. His Ct value was very high, which is indicative of a low viral load, and his serology test result has also come back positive. Given that these indicate likely past infection, we have classified the case as imported based on his travel history. He is likely to be shedding minute fragments of the virus RNA, which are no longer transmissible and infective to others.

As of 2 June 2021, 12pm, the Ministry of Health (MOH) has preliminarily confirmed 24 new cases of locally transmitted COVID-19 infection. 19 are linked to previous cases, amongst whom 18 have already been placed on quarantine, and 1 was detected through surveillance. The remaining 5 are currently unlinked. Based on our investigations so far, the cases are in the community, and there are no new cases in the dormitories.

2. In addition, there are 7 imported cases, who have already been placed on Stay-Home Notice upon arrival in Singapore. Of these, 6 are returning Singaporeans or Singapore Permanent Residents.

3. In total, there are 31 new cases of COVID-19 infection in Singapore today.

4. We are still working through the details of the cases, and further updates will be shared via the MOH press release that will be issued tonight.

Case 63939 is a 22 year-old female Myanmar national who works as a healthcare assistant at Grace Lodge. She is asymptomatic, and was detected when she was tested on 31 May as part of our surveillance testing of nursing home staff . Her pooled test result came back positive for COVID-19 on the same day. An individual test was done on 31 May, and her test result came back positive for COVID-19 infection on 1 June. Her serology test result is positive. Case 63939 received her first dose of COVID-19 vaccine on 4 February and the second dose on 25 February.

Case 63941 is a 36 year-old female Vietnam national who is a homemaker. She developed a fever on 29 May, and sought medical treatment at a General Practitioner (GP) clinic on 31 May, where she was tested for COVID-19. Her test result came back positive for COVID-19 infection on 1 June. Her serology test result is negative.

Case 63964 is a 61 year-old female Singaporean who works at Singapore Pools at NTUC FairPrice (Clementi Avenue 3), and had last gone to work on 26 May. She developed body aches on 30 May, and subsequently a fever and sore throat on 1 June. She sought medical treatment at a GP clinic on the same day, where she underwent an antigen rapid test (ART). She was immediately isolated when her ART result came back positive, and a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test was administered. Her PCR test result also came back positive for COVID-19 infection on 1 June. Her serology test result is pending. Case 63964 received her first dose of COVID-19 vaccine on 30 May.

Case 63971 is a 43 year-old female Singaporean who works in an administrative role at Changi Prison Complex, and had last gone to work on 2 March. She developed a cough on 29 May but did not seek medical attention. She was detected when she was tested for COVID-19 on 1 June as part of our special testing operations for residents of Hougang Avenue 8. She developed a sore throat, blocked nose and loss of taste the next day, and her test result came back positive for COVID-19 infection on 2 June. Her serology test result is pending. Case 63971 received her first dose of COVID-19 vaccine on 28 January and the second dose on 18 February.

Case 63973 is an 80 year-old female Singaporean who is a retiree. She is asymptomatic and was detected when she was tested for COVID-19 on 1 June as part of our special testing operations for residents of Yishun Street 72. Her test result came back positive for COVID-19 infection on the same day. Her serology test result is negative for the N antigen, which suggests the presence of early infection. Case 63949 is a 30 year-old female Philippines national who works as a nursing aide at MINDSville@Napiri. She developed a runny nose, cough and sore throat on 29 May but did not seek medical attention. As she had been identified as a close contact of Case 63924 [5], she was placed on quarantine on 1 June and tested for COVID-19 on the same day. Her test result came back positive for COVID-19 infection on 1 June. Her serology test result is negative for the N antigen, which suggests the presence of early infection. Case 63949 received her first dose of COVID-19 vaccine on 17 February and the second dose on 11 March.

Case 63950 is a 55 year-old female Singaporean who is a resident at MINDSville@Napiri. She developed a runny nose on 31 May. All 255 staff and residents of MINDSville@Napiri have been tested for COVID-19 since the first case (Case 63924) was confirmed on 31 May. Case 63966 is a 71 year-old female Singaporean who works as a stall assistant at 328 Katong Laksa Tiong Bahru Plaza and was last at work on 27 May. She developed a cough, body aches and headaches on 28 May but did not seek medical attention. As she had been identified as a close contact of Case 63941, she was placed on quarantine on 1 June and was tested for COVID-19 on the same day.
