I gravitate towards the notion that this contact tracing via SafeEntry is not working as well as it should.

Yes, they are collecting huge amounts of data, but this data is not being used productively and the time and effort put in could be used for other more useful things. :coffee:

There are 2 reasons why PAP is collecting the data:

1. They want to be seen to be doing something (but are not willing to say that the data is not being put to good use)

2. They want to be in charge and in control, i.e. to have all the data on hand (but they are not saying that the time and effort to collect the data is actually wasted)

I am already ignoring it sometimes. One third of the time I scan the code, one third I use my IC, one third I simply ignore.:biggrin:

I would skip those SafeEntry for the buildings where I park my vehicle and just to get to nearby places.

Yes, same here. I try to avoid having to scan, sometimes there is even a queue just to scan. But really, the data they are gathering is not being put to good use. Even for the places where the confirmed cases went to, they are simply telling people to "watch their health". As if people would not be "watching their health" if they did not go to those places.

PAP are still allowing PRs and Work pass holders from India to travel to and from Singapore, and these people have been confirmed to have covid 19.

From MOH report today:

a) Imported cases: 5 (2 Permanent Residents, 2 Work Pass holders, 1 Dependant’s Pass holder)

Amongst the imported cases, 2 (Cases 48880 and 48881) are Permanent Residents who returned to Singapore from India on 12 July. Another 2 (Cases 48832 and 48900) are Work Pass holders who are currently employed in Singapore. They arrived in Singapore from India on 11 July and 12 July. The remaining case (Case 48831) is a Dependant’s Pass holder who arrived from India on 11 July. All of them had been placed on 14-day Stay-Home Notice (SHN) upon arrival in Singapore, and had been tested while serving their SHN.

Among the imported cases on 26 July, there are 2 female work permit holders from Phillipines. Quite likely to be maids. :cautious:
