Chitchat From the inside - Circle Line Mystery

While other countries have advanced, SG has retrograded into a 3rd world country which is backward. SG has lost its advantage and is now running around like a headless chicken without leadership and direction.

Will KBW come clean and admit truthfully abt what's wrong with LTA and SMRT?

Yes, Singapore is coming apart at its seams. The father move Singapore into a first world country. The son is sending her back.

Cheeebye pap.

Cannot settle simple stuff like mrt signal fault still dare to be world first country to operate driverless car. Tiu.

Why did they spend money on a driverless train system in the first place? Given the unlimited supply of cheap foreign labor, that seems like a foolish decision.

Aurvandil, you are spot on. Exactly why no sane employer in Singapore will raise productivity when cheap foreign labour is unlimited and encouraged by the pap.

If they can't even manage driverless trains, what do you think will happen with driverless cars:confused:

Imagine an 90-year-old lady wishing to go to Tanjong Katong in a self-driving taxi ends up in Tanjong Rhu; or when she wishes to go to Geylang Serai during Ramadan, she ends in the red-light district of Geylang.

If the "experts" at LTA and SMRT cannot sort it out after 4 days, what do the laymen make of it?

It goes to show AGAIN that paying more does not mean you will get a better product/service-just look at these million dollar salaried ministers who are unable to solve the increasing number of problems here.

The crux of the problem facing this place is- having the same group of people in power for too long such that they will do anything to prolong their tenure instead of caring for the welfare of the people.
Millions are spent on opulence and ceremony eg gatherings/parades/festivals/celebrations/funerals to showcase their "success/contributions " even when things are decaying around them ((more and more trains breaking downs , lifts do not work, TB, dengue, zika increasing, overcrowding in hospitals ect2).
More and more oppressive laws are passed and critics sued/sent to jail.
We are paying a hefty price for a 3rd world country.

Where is the millionaire SMRT CEO? Where is the millionaire head of LTA? Where is the millionaire minister? These are supposedly the top brains in the country. And they have no solution? Our top brains are so mediocre? Why are we overpaying them?

Yes, Singapore is coming apart at its seams. The father move Singapore into a first world country. The son is sending her back.

The father didn't build the right foundation because he wanted sinkees to be stupid so that they will always vote PAP.

Did they check for seemingly innocuous things like cable ties or food wrappers that can cause disruption to signals ?

Did they realise its the 7th month and those grounds that they exhume perhaps didn't do a clean job and left something ?

Or simply LKY is telling us something ?

You mean they did not smash enough coconuts when they were constructing the lines?.....lost signals, have they checked for defective parts or equipment....like " DESIGNED IN CALIFORNIA or FRANCE or?"...but "assembled in CHINA"....

or have established names products bought over by Chinese business...BUT NOW MADE IN CHINA...but people buy them for the past experience with the brand...

His foundation was not that good either & Sinkingporeans bought that too...he gave his his " clown" mee siam mai hum...

Latest - still unable to isolate. No progress at all 5 days later. French on the ground. Last night, biggest team ever assembled for tunnel inspection.

Did they build a one-of-a kind , not built anywhere else system ? Singapore is losing her reputation pretty fast. No wonder Desmond is still there chuckling and stashing his millions until the day they call for his head. Nobody else wants the job.

Does the pap bother if accidents happen and some people get killed? To them life continues

That describes the world in general not just the PAP.

You don't care about those who are not part of your inner circle. You don't shed a tear when a suicide bomber kills 100 innocent people.

Why should a politician be any different?

The buffet meals must have been lovely. People need to eat right? Got bakuteh, chicken rice and mee siam mai hum right?

MRT has lost many engineers and mrt expertise because of poor management by Saw. That's the reason we are in such a bad state. Expertise and corporate memory must be retained for such a system and organisation

not only aunty saw, the transport minister during the SAW era is just as much to blame. .. he spent his time erecting new ERP gantries to collect $$ .. where got time to look at trains

'Intermittent signalling issues' plague Circle Line for 5th straight day

Updated 02 Sep 2016 08:05

SINGAPORE: Commuters along the Circle Line should expect delays on Friday (Sep 2),the fifth straight day SMRT said train services were affected by "intermittent signalling issues".

At 7.49am on Friday, the transport operator said that those travelling may face longer dwell times at stations along their journey due to intermittent signalling issues.

the neglect in maintenance of trains and software coupled with loss of skill and expertise retention over the last few years results in this messy situation. SMRT and the french experts dont even know where to start the trouble shooting.

Singaporeans have warned pap, LTA and SMRT of the need to maintain systems and retain expertise. But alas, these warnings fell on deaf ears

If there is intermittent delays, the least is that they put out free connecting bus service to ease the choke. Or free travel on circle line during this period of time.

I am sure such a gesture will soothe dis satisfaction n buy time to solve the problem.

Oppo parties are U reading this ? Can u not raise this up ?

we need clarity and leadership in all these

Latest 6th day - The external interference is still the suspected cause. Last night they they switched off internet broadband access to the public in 4 stations and they are going to do it by stages to isolate. They do not think its their equipment. The sense is that they are no nearer to the problem since day 1 and it does not look good. Hopefully the interference can be isolated.

ps. One of GLC contractors who was convicted for hacking into Sports Hub to sabotage due to a fall out is looming in the minds of some and a similar incident has not been ruled out.
