不过虽然TGV Duplex双层高铁可以一次运输512名乘客,但是由于新冠病人需要躺着乘坐,所以改装为新冠专车后它就无法像往常那样进行座位排列了。实际上法国人这次的改装并没有使用原本列车的座位,而是直接将担架给固定到了座位顶上,并利用绑在扶手和座椅腿上的松紧帆布带来防止晃动。这种方式改动量较小,容易快速完成,而且也不会破坏原本列车的结构。另外,为了防止病毒沾染列车,为后续的杀毒增加工作量,医务人员还用塑料膜将车厢内的座位和过道罩了起来。而车厢的行李架上也被加装了氧气瓶和监护仪器,这样就能在转运过程中对病人进行照料。
