STOMPer YF boarded a Prime taxi from Hougang Ave 4 to Bishan, with his parents and younger sister. But what he expected to be just a normal trip, turned out to be a nightmare.
In his email to STOMP, he recounted:
“I boarded a Prime Taxi(SHD 2463T) from Hougang Ave 4 at 11.25am on Sunday (Apr 25) and instructed the cab driver to proceed to Bishan Lane with my family.
“My family members (which consists of my father, mother and younger sister) and I were having our conversation in Cantonese regarding my friend who was unhappy with his job and wanted to quit. and
“The cab driver suddenly interrupted and offered his view that all young people were like that nowadays.
“I politely told the driver to concentrate on his driving as the matter did not concern him.
“He just continued talking and was saying things about young people and terrible we were.
“The more he talked, the more he became agitated and became hurling abusive words in Hokkien.
“I told the cab driver to calm down but as the taxi enter into Braddell Road, he suddenly grab my sleeve and threaten to assualt me, causing the taxi to sway from left to right causing a near accident and endangering the lives of those onboard.
“Upon reaching the destination, the cab driver got of his cab and threatened to assault me, telling me he does not care about his vocational license anymore and ask me to wait for his gang member to come and beat me up.
“Sensing something was amiss, I immediately called up the police who ask me to make a police report.”
