SINGAPORE: Lee Hock Yen, an ex—senior manager with SPRING Singapore, has been charged with attempting to obtain gratification in the form of a referral fee.
The Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau’s investigations showed that the 54—year—old Lee suggested to the sales manager of Hitachi to mark up professional fees the firm was charging Rayco Technologies by S$10,000 to S$20,000.
This was so that the amount could be given to the accused as his referral fee in May 2006.
However, Hitachi Asia rejected the demand. — CNA/vm
