It seems that sooner or later there will be no more Singapore men for Singapore women to marry.
Read in the papers, that 5 Filipinos paid their own way to Singapore on a month-long social visit pass, find husbands and set up home here.
This is just the latest development, in addition to the hubby snatching antics of China women who have landed on our shores.
From the looks of it, these foreign women are much hungrier in trying to snatch a Singapore guy, compared to our Singapore princesses.
It seems that foreign women pull out the stops just to get Singapore husbands while Singapore women seem not to care as much.
There are also reports that the local guys with good jobs & education prefer a foreign gal who will cook for them, bear them children & NOT be demanding.
In the past, it was the men who were paying agencies to go on foreign bride hunting trips, now the women are the ones taking the initiative arriving on our shores to seek out the men.
& what about Singaporean women?
They'd rather be pampered, wined and dined and even treated like princesses. Even then, there's still no guarantee.
It is no wonder that a foreign maid inherited the millions from an unmarried, educated & capable Singapore women.
With women's education levels rising and increasing numbers of them were not willing to settle for the traditional role of a wife -- at least as it exists in its current form. They preferred to keep their jobs and stay single.
& it's not just S'pore! Increasing numbers of southeast Asian men, particularly in Japan, South Korea and Taiwan are marrying foreigners because fewer women in their homelands are willing to wed and it's much easier for these men just pay an agency and get the perfect bride for themselves.
