The owner Ronnie (not Robert as I initially stated:o) is a laid back chap and appears to have made enough money already. That is why he does not open for dinner and usually closes shop by around 4pm. Think he takes short breaks with his wife. For those who are keen to try and do not want to be disappointed perhaps try giving Ronnie a call before going down to his shop @ 9777 3318
Fook Seng is famous not only for their chicken but for their disappearing act. I gave up after getting screwed on 2 occasions. There was a time he even disappeared for a year.
Can't figure it out - usually 2 to 3 days at a stretch.
Talking about chicken rice chili, there was a popular shop in Lorong Mambong (Holland Village) which sold chicken rice (good stuff), chicken noodles and Ipoh hor fun. Their chicken rice chili was pretty shiok and I used purchase bottles to take home on many occasions. Unfortunately the place has changed hands and since gone more upmarket, with lots of PRCs around and I find the taste of the chicken rice no longer to my preference, same with the chili. Quite sad because I use to spend many a happy weekend, off day, eating there with family and friends.:(
