Confirmed I'm going to stick with window 7. If I'm forced to take up window 8, I'll throw it out of the window and get a Mac.

Why should anyone struggle to learn an OS
Many are already familiar with the conventions used in win XP/ 7 & the Mac OS.
i have 30 inch LCD with no touch screen, only mouse, why would i want an interface for tablet for my PC. I dun not understand what microsoft trying to sell to us?
Think the direction now is to hav an os with cross platform capabilities...one tat can be use on desktop, laptop, tablet and mobile phone...and most importantly...able to integrate...
While it is easy for home user to change from 1 os to another, since as long as it is able to surf, read email, login Sbf n diap ppl:p ...not so for business and government...eg...moi company had over 50k of pc, laptop, server etc worldwide...all de in house sw is written n run in window environment...it is almost impossible to "jump ship" to another os...
While desktop and laptop had no problem logging onto the network...tablet and mobile phone can't...wat if 1 day...tis also become possible? Wat if 1 day de set of MS office u hav r able to run on ur desktop, laptop, tablet and phone?
Tis is something entirely new...and they probably can't design it exactly the same as convention win os...we are so use to I guess...
Any technological advantage ? I don't see how this thing can help me sort my picture and video files efficiently. I think they want you to buy with their proprietary online stuff again. It's about them, not us, users.
First thing is drivers upgrade, be sure that printers, routers...etc. will go kaput!..my wireless router did, I had no Internet access had to use LAN cable to connect & DL the driver from Computer Vendor site..in my case, ACER!
As a home user I have plenty of legacy HW which I don't want to throw away: an i7 system, Razor keyboard, Razor Mouse, Canon scanners, Laser printers, Hi Fi sound system, ... I invest in quality equipment & if Microsoft can't show me a reason why should I update
I visited Sim Lim recently ready to spend $$ on my PC but didn't find anything I needed
I did find plenty of Apple related products I plan to get
Microsoft is copying Apple, and trying to sell a touch-centric ecosystem to you. It is trying very hard (and desperate) to convince you that its walled garden is better than Apple's.

Windows 8 is for touchscreen monitors?
The biggest headache of any update is actually with the 3rd party software support. That's why I am never the 1st one to update. This is especially true with beta software like Win 8.0
Bro...Razer mouse n keyboard...u oso gamer? you dun nid to upgrade now...usually within a yr or more when new games (sw) can no long run in win7 or when ms stop supporting de older os...moi office pc still running on xp...
Windoze is not Beta..betta, time will tell, but still fall far short of MAC OS on usability!. But Microsoft is trying very hard to be like APPLE, now they are selling you the kitchen sink...without the plumbing, ha ha ha, maybe basic plumbing..
like their new improve music player...look better than previous versions, sound output better than before, but the have removed the ability to rip & burn disc..that one have to dive into the old desktop & use the old media player there..
the media center...which one have to pay $xx.xx now for some, it is free...is still crappy.........
