Facebook makes all public posts searchable

After enabling individual user posts searchable to friends last year, Facebook has just indexed its entire two trillion posts in order to make all public posts searchable. The feature will allow anyone to check on trending and breaking events by using the search option on the social media.
"Because we've indexed the entire world's conversations, we tell you things that are trending, things that are breaking, what's happening right now. The whole idea here is that if you can group these pieces of content in certain ways, it makes it pretty easy to get the full story," Rousseau Kazi, a product manager on Facebook's search team, was quoted as saying by The Verge. "Once you understand the basis of the story, we move into how your world is reacting to it. We're making it super easy for you to get everyone's perspective in one place about a topic that you care about."
Even though Facebook has made all of its users' posts public, you don't need to worry because you can change your privacy settings by clicking the lock in the upper right-hand corner of your Facebook page that will have an option of "Who can see my stuff?" Under this you will get two options: "Public" or "Friends". If you want only your friends to see your post, then you need to click on the "Friends only" option. If you select the "Public" option, your post will be searchable to anyone. There is also a "More" option, with "Only Me", which when selected will allow only you to view your post.
