It was revealed in another forum that David Poh and his brother bought the Sentosa bungalow where the KTV China mei mei drowned, for 15 million. He boasted at that time that he made the deal to buy in one hour. The intended use of the Sentosa Cove bungalow he declared was as a “holiday home”

Today it has transpired that a reclusive Nigerian lives in that bungalow. We all know about Nigerian corruption and black money and how money is laundered through money lenders. is there a connection somewhere between David Poh and this Nigerian than just a landlord/ tenant relationship or is it mere coincidence? Shouldn't the authorities be looking into David Poh's relationship with this Nigerian and what sort of money this Nigerian is washing through Singapore and if David Pohs washing machine is being used ?

Is this why the police hasn't yet solved the ah long problem after all these years?

Imagine of all the people to helm a CCC, the highest political body in a ward they a found a money lender. You can't make this up. What other vocation is lower than a money lender.

A CCC chairman's appointment must be endorsed by the PM after careful scrutiny by PA & PMO. That sent of consideration is even more thorough than the selection process for NMP.

There is no doubt that they know who he is and what he does. Yet they picked. Why would then be the question. Couple of possibilities
- he brings in resources that cannot be enforced by the current funding restraints faced by political parties
- he employs tactics that your ordinary folks will not use

Bear in mind nobody is going to treat an Ah Long as a valued member of community. So his role in reaching out to the residents is not event limited it will actually put them off. So what exactly is the story. Is is sign of desperation based on the fact that Aljunied has no chance of being taken back. PAP is facing an exodus of good members?

It is indeed quite a story and something no one would have expected from the Men in White - associating with an Ah Long.

This story piqued my curiosity - an Ah Long holding a senior political appointment within the ruling party's grassroots structure. What is the motivation.

2 things came out

1) The Money lending laws are quite interesting and unusual. Most laws would apply to all within the jurisdiction of the country. Certain clauses do not apply to foreigners. For example, despite conditions on proven income and caps in place. Ah Longs do not have to apply a cap to loan quantum given to foreigners. Why such a rule. It means that more foreigners that come into the country, the markets size for Ah Long gets bigger. Here is the interesting bit - the person and persons who drafted the law or influenced must have been motivated by something to exclude foreigners. Has this got anything to do with our huge casino business.

2) The close association between the Money Lenders Association and Case. Imagine the crocodile and the deer meeting on common issues. The crocodile must agreed to some terms such as mediating and helping to explain to other deers why they are allowed to be eaten. The Ah Longs also proudly took group photos IN Case premises. Only thing that would beat this is a group of pedophiles taking snapshot while paying a visit to the local children's home.

It now explains why he and his brother immediately bought the "death" bungalow in Sentosa and claimed that it was going to be a holiday home for their families. It more likely for his high roller clients who need immediate short term loans and a place to recuperate. After all there is no cap for loans to foreigners. Might run into the millions.

Which family wants to holiday in a death bungalow that was so heavily publicised.

If PA wants to be a credible grassroots organization, they have no choice but to remove Moneylenders, pimps and assorted grey economy types from RCs and CCCs. They must also show that action has been taken promptly. Otherwise PA would be a liability to the PAP . I await to see if action would be taken.....
