Exchange Rates for RM

Sorry for late reply bro. I did it near causeway. Not BI which u preferred.

No problem. Although I prefer to change at BI, but it's good to know other places that also gives good rates. Over the weekend in BI, it was only 2.495 at Superlink. Same thing with People's Park Complex in Sg on Monday afternoon; 2.495 too.

isnt it better to do remittance at raffles @ JP ? no admin charges for msia acct abv RM10k , their rates are gd too !
no need to change cash weekly so troublesome ....

New to TT. How do we get the SGD remitted through Raffles@JP?
Do we need to bring cash or what form of payment is possible? To do 10% down payment transfer is quite a large sum of money. Thanks for advice.

so far they prefer cash , depends yr msia acct is singaporean or malaysian acct ? no limits for msian accts but now they totally stop remittance for singaporean accts. u can do in parkway too .
read thru this thread , it has been discussed many many times liao .

Use crossed cheque. You get even better rate. Cheques take slightly longer but offers more security. Its my preferred method to transfer when using Raffles@JP.

Thats why I am not keen on some of the Money REmittance companies at Arcade. e.g Crown Exchange asked me to give them non crossed cheques (ie. dont cross out 'or bearer'). Siao to be exposed to such risks.

how do they secure the rates for u ? they use the rate u give them cheque or upon cheque clearance date?

At the point of purchase/when you give them the cheque. Only diff is instead of thick stack of cash u give cheque.

Not as convenient because of the location. But no harm finding out more about this. I believe they can TT to any Msian bank, right? And if the rates are higher, why not?

Meanwhile, Credit Agricole CIB recommended buying six-month
ringgit non-deliverable forwards and selling the Singapore
dollar spot.
The Singapore dollar is seen overvalued, while the ringgit
is relatively cheap, Credit Agricole said in a note.
"Quantitative model of SGD/MYR highlights sharp downside
risks to the currency pair based on oil prices, relative equity
performance, interest rate differentials and risk aversion," it
said in a note.
Late last month, the Singapore dollar hit a
14-year high against the ringgit.

Hi Sis Crystal,
Dollar Exchange @ Jurong Point still accept remittance to Sg account but can only remit RM9990 and S$10admin fee.

Today remitance rate is RM250.2

Remittance at Raffles JP
use cash can get slightly better rate than chq.

if you know where taman seri orkid is, the money changer give quite good rate. their rate comparable to JB town one, if not better.
