Rates at the Central Expressway (CTE), Pan—Island Expressway (PIE), Shenton Way, Bendemeer, Thomson and Lor 6 Toa Payoh gantries will be cut from Saturday (15 November) till 31 December. The ERP rates will revert to the pre—school holiday rates from 2 January 2009. The Land Transport Authority (LTA) says the next ERP rate review is in February, which is the first quarterly review for 2009.

</noscript>SMRT Taxis is the first taxi operator in Singapore to offer cashless ez—link payment for cab fares. There will be a 10—cent administrative charge for each transaction but SMRT says it will be waived until 2010. SMRT will install the ez—link payment readers on 600 taxis by the end of this month. All 3000 SMRT cabs will be fitted with the new readers by March 2009.
