Malaysian hovel or Mynmmar conclave?
I think it's a Russian gulag. I saw a few tall and blonde ones walking around in the town centre. I heard some Russian words spoken.
Malaysian hovel or Mynmmar conclave?
You are right that pap will slip and the cause is not clear. This is because the issues are many. However, it can be grouped into a single category - insincere and twisting with words.Everyone seems to think PAP will slip further in this coming GE.
Yet, nobody knows why ?
Since the GE 2011, the issues of contention ( population, immigration, housing, health-care, transport , etc ) have been tackled and much progress have been made by the PAP.
.....).
I think vile pappies are still confident.
Note this time no wholesale cash giveout like last GE.
Only payout to target groups.....either they believe certain groups cannot be placate anymore or that the votes from targeted groups like low income and PG are enough to carry them through.
Or they still got wild card up their sleeves....note the smear campaign against opposition is on cue (MND and Daniel Goh).
Pinky not cried or apologize yet. No lawsuits yet.
I think vile pappies haven seen the coffin yet.
Had the PAP stuck with its 'old school' principles, shown some humility and done a proper job taking care of Singaporeans, it would not have come to this.
They're lucky that Sinkies are still relatively docile. Torches and pitchforks would have been out long ago in other countries.
If they are still confident like you said, then they are really disconnected and deserve to be punished at the poll. They probably figured they have trump cards in the form of LKY's death and SG50 (hence no need for wholesale cash give-outs). These emotions are fleeting but yet they hope will carry them through.
In their heart of hearts, they must realise that they have not fixed issues pertaining to immigration, population. transportation, housing, health care. There is still a lot of anger, if not more than in GE2011. They are not confident but playing bluff.

If Opps raise the same old issues as in GE 2011, they are simply running out of ideas. In other words, from 2011 to 2015, the Opps have not thought of what they want Singapore to be. Instead, all they do in this GE is to parrot the same old issues that were already debated in 2011.
My gut feeling is that the shocking results will be that PAP will return in a bigger margin of win than the last GE. Simply because half of the Opps are a motley crew of opportunists ( they are going for the $18k MP pay in the guise of speaking up for Singaporeans. Nothing is free you know. ) and distractors ( activists turn politicians at the last minute ) and the other half do not know how to manage a town council ( if only they bother to check why FMSS earns so much money in less than 2 years while their own Town Council's finances are in deficit, but they don't want to do it because it would be embarrassing to let the Aljunied residents know that they have screwed up big time ).

You should really watch the NUSS Political Dialogue discussion chaired by Vishaw. The opposition candidates from every party explained their visions/plans including the AHPETC issue and dealt with impromptu Q&A from the floor. Unlike LHL interviews, the difficult questions were not prepared ahead.
The PAP female MP panellist Sim An kena arrowed to go was literally a "Flower vase" case, talk without really dealing with the issues. None of the PAP big guns dared to show up to risk answering difficult questions.
The PAP MP Sim An was really slaughtered! It really looked bleak for PAP there.

Don't say aged collect cardboard because they wish to exercise if the the majority do it out of need.
Don't say there are lots of job opportunity if the vacancies are for cleaners and security guards.
Don't say $1000 monthly can afford to buy a flat and support a family if it can't even support a single person.
Don't say a heart operation cost $8 if majority can't afford that kind of insurance premium
The list seems endless but your post is exactly like what pap has been doing by saying that they have tackled most of the issues. Just health care issue alone, implementing the Medishield life is not taking care of health care issue. This Medishield life implementation alone is enough reason for us to vote opp even if he/she is a nut because we don't wish to be treated like fools with all these scams like Medishield life. Better to pay a nut 18k than someone who is out to sweet talk with little good.
There is no issue that need urgent fixing or need to be fixed by the PaP.
Not convinced? All you have to do is to step out of your own country, to realise how much better your own country really is.
I think ppl like you lacks ...GRATITUDE.
And for that, I feel time and again the PAP have to tighten the screws to remind ppl like you...
how lucky you have been under their rule.

You will know on Sep 11.
In fact, you should already know back in March...

The man and his party are synonymous.

....ask why WP didn't want to attend the National Day Rally ? Same logic here , but where's his guts?
Limpeh also turned up to pay last respect to LKY but not going to vote for the pappies in coming GE.
Respecting LKY for his contribution to the country is not the same as supporting the pappies to do what they are now doing. So, don't think all these people turning up to pay respect to LKY will surely vote for pappies.
