Senior HSK enjoys catching up with seniors. 
I always enjoy catching up with our seniors during my walkabouts in Bedok.
Besides encouraging them to stay active and take care of their health, I would also encourage them to stay up to date on their COVID vaccination.
With CNY round the corner and long-awaited gatherings to look forward to, it is even more important that we get our 2nd booster shot.
I took mine yesterday. Do take yours if you have not already done so.

Instead, take some time to reflect on your strengths and interests, to find that “right-for-you” path which ignites your passion and enables you to grow.

This art installation at the community park behind Blk 10C may look like mega mushrooms from afar. But if you look closely, inside each ‘mushroom cap’ is a collaborative creation of slime and other materials by artists and families in Bedok!
This is one of five artworks located in neighbourhoods around the island that was done in conjunction with Singapore Art Week and PAssionArts.
Thank you to all who contributed to making Bedok more vibrant!

We had a heartwarming weekend celebrating the achievements of our students at the Bedok Edusave Awards!
We emphasise holistic development for our students. Thus, the Edusave awards recognise both academic and non-academic excellence. This year, we presented awards to more than 650 students. Many of them came with their parents, siblings and even grandparents — it truly takes a kampong to raise a well-rounded child!
Congratulations to all recipients, I hope you keep up the good work, and continue to be an inspiration for others!

HSK was happy to launch SGInnovate’s Deep Tech Talent Central last Friday.
Addressing the world’s biggest challenges – whether climate change or pandemics – often require fundamental scientific and engineering innovations.
This is what some have termed “deep tech” – areas such as AI, biotech, materials science, quantum computing, and others. In Singapore, we have made good progress in building up our deep tech ecosystem, with a growing R&D base and a vibrant start-up scene. But talent remains a key constraint for deep tech start-ups globally, including in Singapore.
So I was happy to launch SGInnovate’s Deep Tech Talent Central last Friday — a new initiative to strengthen talent development in the Deep Tech startup ecosystem here. SGInnovate will be working with a range of industry partners to offer apprenticeships for students, as well as on-the-job training programmes for mid-career individuals.
I look forward to our deep tech ecosystem becoming even more vibrant in the years ahead, and encourage those who are interested to explore opportunities in this exciting sector!

HSK bumped into residents doing Zumba. 
Was doing my usual walkabout when I bumped into residents who were about to start their weekly Zumba session! They had organised a group ‘lohei’ pre-Zumba, and invited me to join them! Heartwarming to see the strong kampung spirit among Bedok residents. Also glad to see neighbours leading a healthy lifestyle by exercising and enjoying good food in moderation!
