I am unable to understand the reason and rationale that wherever Dr. Chee contested, including Bukit Batok, where his opponent or PAP candidate is not any brighter, not any more eloquent, not demonstrating any more compassion, Dr. Chee was unable to become an elected MP.

Cos 70% peasants easy to forgive and forget.

create a poverty trap, and when the people are locked in, make sure the majority are constantly in lack while selling them the dream of having the Swiss Alps at their door. How many cheebai sinkies have seen the Alps, let alone know what it is? Meanwhile keep dispensing freebies by the trickles. As Juvenal had said, "Give them bread and circuses and they will not revolt." Machiavelli repeated it, dictators throughout history have been trying to perfect it.

Not true lah, many have long memories. Some voters still cannot forgive and blamed Dr Chee for his role in Chiam See Tong's ouster from SDP way back in 1993.
Tbey believe the official endorsed narrative - Good Old Chiam is the Good Oppie and Sly Chee is backstabber mah

But ish it really True?

Let's tie the knots here (from wiki):

Chiam's maternal grandfather, Lim Liang Quee, was part of the Straits Chinese elite. Mabel Lim, one of Chiam's maternal aunts, married Kwa Soon Siew, a brother-in-law of Singapore's first prime minister Lee Kuan Yew.

Actually i am referring to current high cost of living caused by PAP policies. Million dollar hdb flats, high COE, high utilities, high taxes, high CPF BRS, etc. Majority peasants complained on daily basis. But come GE, all forgotten and forgiven.

Especially boomers. Hard core PAP borlampar.
The boomers are a lost cause. One hopes that the younger generation, the Millennials and Gen Z, who are more liberal and aware of world trends and feeling the brunt of high cost of housing and living, will vote opposition without fear.

To be fair CSJ has made mistakes in his political career. But he has learnt from them - and is still learning - and has moved on from his checkered past. Voters should give him a second chance. Who hasn't made a mistake in his life?

As for the 1993 SDP ouster, it was Ling and Cheo and their gang who initiated the ouster and put a blur newbie CSJ on the throne. CSJ had only joined the year before for the Marine Parade GRC by-election; he had absolutely no power within the CEC but was led by the nose by the dissident gang who couldn't get along with Chiam.

'Let he who has not sinned throw the first stone.'

Chee was ahead of his time as a political activist but he didn't read the ground well. He overestimated the fucktards here by staging a hunger strike. Cheebais here are so afraid to go hungry, why would you remind them of their fears by simulating it? I hope he's realised pork barrel politics works the best for Sinktards - no jab no job worked wonderfully, no jab no restaurants was a charm. CDC vouchers cause Sinkies to be wet and horny. Maybe that's why he runs a food joint these days

d a national fruit sparked a wave of mockery from Malaysians.

Many took to social media to question the accuracy of the poster, with some humorously wondering if the fruit might have grown on Singapore’s rooftops.

“Singapore grows durian under the sea,” one user called Dietfit Kch commented humorously.

“The best durians from Singapore comes from Segamat, Pagoh and Raub. Not far from Woodlands MRT station,” Loh Jin Tiam wrote.

Lokey Woon commented: “Where Singapore grow the durian? Botanic garden or Jurong bird park?”

lao lan kia was given a script to memorize. you really thought he wrote it himself? LOL

Seatwarmer Wong decides nothing himself. Otherwise a certain someone wouldn't become the 'senior minister'.

This stupid Chinese feudal 太上皇 system needs to be abolished. Also, this snot-sized island doesn't need so many DPMs or mayors, but I understand you need more pigs to feed from the trough.

The statements made by @oliverlee and @laksaboy are accurate.

The NDR speech that Lawless Wong delivered had undergone many revisions and the approval of the speech was given by Pinky and then by Ho Jinx. That happened about a month before the National Day Rally. Pinky is weak. He subcontracts decisions on matters of the state to Ho Jinx. The Queen is in charge of everything concerning the Royal Familee household and state affairs now.

Calling them low-hanging fruit, Khairy says Malaysia-Singapore should have five land crossings, passport-free soft border policy

Malay Mail
KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 22 — Malaysia and Singapore should have four or five land crossings instead of the two that it currently has and a passport-free border policy for seamless customs clearance, former minister Khairy Jamaluddin said today.
Calling them “low-hanging fruit”, Khairy said with the planned Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone in the pipeline, the opportunity should be seized right now, online news outlet Free Malaysia Today reported today.
“These are low-hanging fruits. It (the opportunity) wasn’t taken in the past for political reasons but it should be seized now. These are the things that businesses from both countries want to see. This is what the Johor-Singapore special economic zone is about,” he was reported as saying.

Saying the connectivity between both countries was integral for the economic integrity of Asean, he said the Johor-Singapore Causeway and the Second Link were inadequate to handle the volume of daily commuters.

“I think it’s inconceivable that since 1965, when Singapore was expelled from Malaysia, there have been only two physical crossings between the two countries,” he was quoted as saying at the SIDC Business Foresight Forum 2024 at the Securities Commission’s headquarters today.

The Causeway and Second Link saw more than 450,000 daily crossings between Malaysia and Singapore prior to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The former Umno Youth chief also called for seamless customs clearance at the southern border, requiring less regulation and involving minimal customs and immigrations so people, goods and services can move more freely.
