Last Friday The Oath episode still on my mind. Doctor refuse to do transplant operation just because patient friend donate kidney but patient pay angpow. Patient about to die. Patient friend about to bankrupt. If doctor transplant for them patient will live. Her angpow will help her friend not bankrupt. Doctor leave them both to die and bankrupt. He say thats law and moral. What kind of law and moral is that?

That no need to mention. Where got such thing as free transplant operation hospital dont bill you? At least 6 figure$ I think. Now thats law thats moral. But donor receiving angpow from patient who say thank you not law not moral. Thats law and moral that have doctors like NEH and VB proudly announcing that they earn more millions than ministers before they become ministers. What a sacrifice what a bargain LOL

Profiteering is middleman. Richman needs kidney, ask middleman to look. Middleman persuade poorman to donate. Middleman take commission. But if I know you you know me. You need kidney I donate. I have no problem if people want to give kidney to save own family members lives.

Let me tell you how immoral doctors and hospitals and government can be. Pay for your kidney cannot. Pay for your operation must. Limited money trap both ways. If no money pay dare not sign operation form, next! Anyhow sign also no use without personal wealth or rich guarantor. Of course the queue go up to rich people who can sign the sign form money no worry. They all Class A bills. Doctors and hospitals can charge more. Government dont need subsidise. See?

You wana know why? After the transplant.. if the patient fart more then twice the next day.. COMPRAIN operation fiaked up and sue. 10 years later if donor sneeze twice.. Comprain operation fiaked up.. sue more.

I would say I am undecided.

But the morality argument can lead to absurd outcomes. I believe HOTA is bad only because it allows medical tourists to 'harvest our organs' without any con$ideration given for the donor. Why should people who don't sign the HOTA be entitled to our citizens' organs? If patients who need organs should pay for it, how much? To whom? THE STATE?? THE PRIVATE HOSPITALS??

It's a bloody mess, and clearly I did not follow or understand the arguments when they were debated in parliament. The (perceived) lack of communication about the plan is discomforting. All they tell you is you can opt out, but you have lower priority to organs than the medical tourist if you need it.

Notice my objections have nothing to do with equality or morality. Though I acknowledge your sentiments as valid, and would feel better if there were no HOTA.

I think he got into jail or something and then they changed the law and he got his organ eventually.

If I remember right, the CK Tang boss got $10k fine and 1 day jail LOL
