CSJ supports the arts. 
In our effort to support our arts community, Orange & Teal will feature the paintings of two young artists, Shih Chin and Uma, at the café. The exhibition, titled “Bloom”, will take place starting tomorrow (7 Nov) till next Sun (14 Nov).
Renting gallery space can be a costly affair and many of our budding artists find it difficult to afford such an expense. You can purchase the paintings at the café. All proceeds go to the artists.
Shih Chin’s works celebrate women who bloom with strength and perseverance despite the challenges and expectations in modern life through floral motifs, colours and textures.
Uma experiments with the blooming of colours in her paintings to express the humour and play in the way she sees her subject matters, to share her belief in finding the joy in the journey and simple things around us.
Refreshments will be provided on the opening day (Sun, 7 Nov) between 3-6pm (while stocks last).

CSJ comments about Bloomberg conference and more.
So, the Bloomberg conference is underway (16-19 Nov) even as I write this post. It's a meeting of the opulent and famous from overseas. And they are here to wine and dine, too.
But here's the rub: They can do so in groups 5 whereas locals can only do so in 2s (unless you're from the same household). The logic escapes me.
The PAP will, as usual, justify its actions however amazing these may be. I guess if you can justify changing the rules to restrict the presidency to a Malay and then field an Indian and say that she is Malay, then you can justify anything.
But intelligent S'poreans know the attitude of this govt. We may not possess billions in our bank accounts and we may be only S'poreans. But we will not be discriminated against by our own govt. We are not dumb and we vote.
Don't let the PAP talk down to us, my friends, make them reason with us.

CSJ climbs up and down the ladder.
Some of you who came to the cafe may have seen me climbing up and down the ladder putting finishing touches to our Christmas setting. Looking to create that extra something special this Christmas. It's back to 5 again - and just in time for the festive season too! Looking forward to having you drop by for our Christmas specials starting tomorrow with our drinks - peppermint mocha, gingerbread cappuccino, apple cider...the whole lot. Turkey and prime roast to follow soon (will announce these later). For now, come on by to the cafe. We spent a few days doing up the place, it's looking pretty Christmassy now.

CSJ found a new BFF.
Found myself a new BFF. Jordy, a service dog, dropped by at the cafe yesterday and found instant fame with everyone. He obviously enjoyed all the Christmas tinsel and glitter. Come back again, buddy.

CSJ hopes MMTF know what they are doing.
CNN reports that the world is on high alert for the Omicron variant.
CNA reports that Israel has closed its borders to the world.
But ST reports that S'pore has extended is VTLs to 6 more countries.
Let's hope that our MMTF knows what it's doing and is not slow on the uptake again, putting the country in jeopardy again, then make F&B joints the sacrificial lamb by closing outlets down again.
