FORMER general manager of cellphone company Nokia, Kitty Fong Kit Sum, was on Friday ordered by the High Court to pay a penalty of about $26,000 for three corruption charges. Fong, 47, was convicted last year of receiving bribes from then-chief executive of mobile phone repairer Accord Customer Care Solutions (ACCS) Victor Tan. She accepted bribes from Tan in the form of special deals to buy shares in three firms. She also accepted $8,864 from Tan, now in jail for cheating Nokia. Fong was fined $60,000 for her offences.
