nayr69sg is brave and smart. When he felt mistreated, he emigrated to another country. I don't know all his reasons but I remember something about the 1st sars and how they treated doctors driving his decision. you should ask him yourself. Despite being an MD, he took up a labourer job installing windows in a window factory. Mind you though, labourer jobs in other countries often pay equal if not better than white collar jobs. It is in Asia particularly sinkieland where the payscale is so skewed towards paper qualifications.
He worked hard and smart and constantly got promoted through other jobs in his new country. Finally, he went back to being an MD in his new country and is doing well now. He literally has no reason to return other than the so-called soft things that bring him back. I call it 3F's. Family, friends and maybe food. But I know for him it's 2F's because he doesn't think highly of sinkie food and his wife can cook it anyway. Actually it may just be 1F because I think his family is with him...
so you see, unless you really love where you live, the decision to leave is actually quite a slam dunk.
How will this blow a carry trade bubble? I'm out of date, last time I saw carry trade was with JPY due to long term policy. I expect this to be transient and does anybody do that with SGD?
