The CPF Board conducted its third Medisave Contribution Draw (MCD) for eligible self-employed persons (SEPs) and informal workers for work done in 2008 on 7 December 2009, at the CPF Board.
2. The top 3 winners are:
Top prize of $3,000 cash: Loh Kar Yen, Vernon (SXXXX799B)
Second prize of $2,000 cash: Loo Chee Sung (SXXXX381A)
Third prize of $1,000 cash: Oh Beng Hwee (SXXXX365D)
3. Besides the top prizes, another 300 cash prizes of $100 each were also picked. The full results can be accessed via the Workfare Income Supplement (Workfare) website at [URL="http://www.wis.sg/"]www.wis.sg[/URL]. The Board will notify all winners by post.
Qualifying for the MCD
4. 74,300 SEPs and informal workers who had worked in 2008 and fulfilled at least 10% of their 2008 Medisave liabilities had qualified for the 7 December 2009 draw, compared to 70,600 for the second draw held in September 2009.
5. The MCD aims to encourage low-income SEPs and informal workers to contribute to their Medisave accounts. One chance is awarded for every 10% of Medisave liabilities fulfilled - SEPs and informal workers who have fulfilled all their liability would be given the maximum 10 chances.
Future MCD draws
6. The 7 December 2009 draw is the third in a series of four draws for work done in 2008. The fourth draw, which is also the Annual Grand Draw, will be held in March 2010.
7. Low-income SEPs and informal workers who fulfill their 2008 Medisave liabilities by 31 January 2010 will enjoy the maximum chances of winning up to $5,000 in cash at the Annual Grand Draw. The second and third prizes are $3,000 and $2,000 respectively, and there are also 500 consolation prizes of $200 each to be given out. The MCD is open to all low-income SEPs and informal workers who had worked in 2008 and who satisfy the following criteria:
a. Singapore citizen;
b. Average monthly income of less than $1,500; and
c. Live in a property with an Annual Value of not more than $10,000.
8. Low-income SEPs and informal workers are encouraged to fulfil their Medisave liabilities to get maximum chances for the Grand Draw.
