Every one dies...hk has a 7 million popn. And the fatality rate is .05%. That is 3500 deaths. Even if the fatality is 1%. It is 7k. So be it old or young. Everyone dies. .and let's say the 7000 fatality 6000 is old n infirmed n 1 k is younger and kids...it's still not that big a deal to inconvenience the whole country and whole world

Ok if you become the World CEO cum President, do away with everything and continue life as before. :coffee:

But please keep safe/social distancing.

Wat is the use of social distancing and face mask etc? N if it works..why got 20k infected

Usefulness of face mask is arguable. One could argue that without face masks, it could be 100k infected. How to be sure either way?
Usefulness of social distancing is that it keeps ugly bitches and smelly fuckers further away from me.:eek::biggrin:

Only gongcheebyes are sure about things that cannot be proven.
The numbers tell the story...bottom line is the fatality rate is 0.05%...n did u not say the infected could be twice the reported number ? That means 40k infected n I give discount...let's say 10k undiagnosed..so total 30k infected...n yet the death rate is still 7? That means its 0.035%....means the rate is even lower...wow a really big typhoon in a teacup

As a Nation of highly vaccinated Citizen,we should aspire to have 1 million covid infection per week
So by the end of the month, the entire population will achieve herd immunity & ready for any future type of covid-variant
We should be sad that the infection rate been slower than expected. Celebrate when we are all Covided.
As cruel as it may sound, if you are Old or with underlying health condition, what is the difference anyway

SINGAPORE — The total number of COVID-19 cases in Singapore crossed the 500,000 mark on Wednesday (16 February) with 16,883 new infections, down from 19,420 a day before.
The country now has 514,880 cases of the novel coronavirus disease.
Of the new infections, 16,689, or some 99 per cent, are local – 12,714 were detected via antigen rapid tests (ART) and 3,975 via polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests.

The remaining 194 new cases are imported. Of them, 53 were detected via ART while 141 were detected via PCR tests.
A total of 13 COVID-19 related deaths were also reported on Wednesday, bringing the death toll here to 926.
The weekly infection growth rate – or ratio of community cases for the past week over the week before – was 1.29, down from 1.34 the day before. A figure of over one means that the number of new weekly cases is on the rise.
A total of 9,453 cases were discharged, while 1,352 remain warded, down from 1,355 hospitalised cases on Tuesday. This marks the 12th day in a row such cases have crossed the 1,000 mark.
Of those still hospitalised, 153 require oxygen supplementation, while 35 are in the intensive care unit (ICU).
The MOH did not provide Wednesday's overall ICU utilisation rate. Over the last 28 days, of the 206,299 infected individuals, 99.7 per cent had no or mild symptoms.
As of Tuesday, the total number of individuals who have completed their full vaccination regimen is 94 per cent of the eligible population.
Among the total population, 90 per cent have done so, while 92 per cent have received at least one dose, and 64 per cent have received their booster shots.

Why the sudden push for boosters? when boosters are only effective for those 60 and above, but shows little significance for the younger folks (based on real world data from Israel for her Delta wave)

contemplating 4th jab? seriously?
Sinkiestan should really consider donating the vaccines to other nations instead.:rolleyes::rolleyes:
