If you look at the MOH latest update of 21 Sept , paragraph 10. under the heading "We are closely monitoring the clusters listed below, which have already been ringfenced through tracing, testing and isolation." Toa Payoh is not even mentioned!
Also no reference to the widespread cases in schools and old folks home and we are all left to piece together snippets from here and there.
OYK has lost the plot as can be seen from the many cries of help from affected people who receives no assistance or even news from MOH for many days.
Please remember this big cock up and vote them out -otherwise we are doomed

I see that everyone is wearing masks so why is the virus still spreading? Could it be that masks don't work?
Mask and vaccine don't work. But the PAP still running the mask and vaccine narrative. Need to check their REAL educational level. Either their analytical ability have problem or they are in self denial mode.

does pap recognise CECA Covishield vaccine?

The UK government has amended its foreign travel guidance to clarify that the Indian-made version of the AstraZeneca vaccine is an approved jab.

But it is not clear whether people from India can travel to the UK without having to self-isolate for 10 days.

The UK's refusal to recognise Covishield had triggered a firestorm of protests in India.

With more than 721 million doses administered so far, Covishield is India's primary vaccine.

On Tuesday, India described the rule as "discriminatory" and asked the UK to stop requiring fully-vaccinated Indians to self-isolate on arrival.

At present, India is not listed as a country where people are recognised as fully vaccinated even if they've had both doses of an approved jab.

So, Indians travelling to Britain have to self-isolate as well as book and take Covid-19 tests before they are allowed to move freely.

Last week, the UK announced new rules - which will come into effect on 4 October - which mandate that travellers from a number of countries arriving in England do not have to self-isolate if they are fully vaccinated. India was not included in that list either.

Prominent Indians called the rule "highly discriminatory", "racist" and "asinine", among other things.

Foreign Minister S Jaishankar had taken up the matter "strongly" with his UK counterpart Liz Truss, according to India's foreign secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla.

It is "a discriminatory policy and does impact our citizens travelling to the UK", Mr Shringla told reporters. He had warned that India might take "reciprocal measures" if the UK did not address India's concerns.

Such measures generally include India imposing similar restrictions on those arriving from Britain. British travellers to India are thermally screened for fever on arrival, and provide a negative Covid-19 test. They do not need to quarantine.

A leading MP from the main opposition Congress party, Jairam Ramesh, had tweeted that the "bizarre" decision "smacked of racism".

what will trigger a CB or more restrictions?

Loh kun choo ownself label ownself as COVID cluster, that’s a problem.

If my guesstimates are up-to-date, currently around up to 10K beds catered for normal (non-C19+) wards, around 3.5K beds catered for C19+ mild symptoms and just under 0.45K ICU beds (for all critical patients, C19+ or not). Ong mentioned before a total of 1K beds can be ICU-ready for C19+ patients, not sure if these would be converted from those HD wards or just take the beds from normal wards to put into ICU rooms. In any case, better to be prepared than to be caught with the pants down.

The weakest link by far is manpower in the hospital, followed by MOH/CERTIS working styles- where both can’t seem to get their act together, totally no synergy. The latter creates a drag and lag time, end up resulting in more potential mini-clusters within familial groups and relatives/friends. Which in turns hit the weakest link as mentioned before- this is called shooting your own foot.

Homeless Woman Isolates Herself Outside Toa Payoh Lor 8 Market After Testing Covid-19 Positive
mustsharenews.com

Given how transmissible Covid-19 is, quarantine measures have become necessary to prevent widespread clusters and infections.

But what happens when someone doesn’t have an appropriate place where they can isolate themselves?

Recently, a 60-year-old homeless lady who wanders around a hawker centre along Toa Payoh Lorong 8 tested positive for Covid-19.

But as she didn’t have any place to stay, the lady could only ‘isolate’ herself by sitting next to a rubbish collection point.

Homeless lady in Toa Payoh tested positive twice

According to Shin Min Daily News, the 60-year-old lady has been a familiar face around Toa Payoh 8 Hawker Centre for the past 10 years.

Unfortunately, the place is now a Covid-19 cluster with over 30 cases detected there.
However, as she doesn’t work at the hawker centre, the lady wasn’t scheduled to be tested.

Worried that she could have caught the virus, a resident reportedly passed her an ART self-test kit, which ended up returning a positive result.

The kind Samaritan then brought her to a clinic nearby in hopes of getting a more accurate test.
The lady underwent another ART at the clinic, which turned out positive as well.

Clinic staff advised woman to isolate at home

A staff member at the clinic then advised her to isolate herself at home while waiting for her PCR test results, reported Shin Min Daily News.

However, given that she’s homeless, the lady reportedly sat next to the rubbish collection point next to the hawker centre.

In the end, members of the public reportedly lodged a police report. 2 police officers arrived on the scene at noon yesterday (20 Sep) to communicate with the woman.

A private ambulance was deployed at the site at around 2.30pm. A few minutes later, the ambulance ferried the woman away to an isolation facility.

Lady claims she is fully vaccinated

Speaking to Shin Min Daily News, the lady said she was fully vaccinated and was feeling well.

When asked about not having a place to stay, the lady said she doesn’t get along well with her husband and hasn’t returned home for years.

Instead, she had been sleeping at the hawker centre and even bathing at the toilets there.

The 60-year-old lady, however, wasn’t against relocating for her isolation and said she’d comply with the authorities’ arrangement.

Wishing the woman a speedy recovery

Although the woman found herself in a deeply unpleasant situation with no shelter and a positive Covid-19 test, we’re glad that she managed to get help in the end.

It’s heartening to see concerned strangers reaching out to the authorities about the woman’s plight. Otherwise, she could’ve been staying there for a longer time.
Now that the lady can recuperate in a proper isolation facility, we wish her a speedy recovery.
