Straits Times has published an article which says the corruption is because of a mystery woman who is involved with both men.

She apparently works for a top American multinational firm, one that supplies IT-related products and services to several government offices including MHA and SCDF.

While Mr Lim and Mr Ng were both unaware of each other's dealings with the woman, they have both confirmed their relationship with the woman in statements to the Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau (CPIB).

Seperately, Today published a statement from CPIB which indicated that the investigations were seperate.

The pair, who are now out on bail, are "continuing to assist the Bureau in separate investigations", the CPIB said.

Since both cases involved the same woman, why is there a need for seperate investigations?

To get a holistic picture of the wrong doing and see if there is a consisten pattern, surely it would make more sense for a single investigation. Can any bros explain this?

Bro Scrobal and TRE have suggested otherwise. The SCDF case involves purchase of a product from a San Diego IT company listed on Nasdaq. A Singapore GLC is said to have done the SI. The info in AsiaOne does not seem correct as the San Deigo IT company does not have any deals of size with CNB. The GLC however does. I suspect our msn is trying to hide the GLC involvement at this point in time. How they can do this when it goes to Court is beyond me ...

SINGAPORE: ST Electronics said it's "not aware" that any of its staff has been called up by the Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau (CPIB) to help with investigations.

Its spokesperson was responding to media queries over reports that one of its staff is believed to be involved in the probe into former chiefs of the Singapore Civil Defence Force and Central Narcotics Bureau.

Former SCDF commissioner Peter Lim, and former CNB director Ng Boon Gay, were arrested under the Prevention of Corruption Act, over allegations of "serious personal misconduct".

Both men are now out on bail.

They are said to have been in a close working relationship with a female IT executive at a company that supplied IT-related products and services to several government agencies.

Their cases are believed to be linked to tenders awarded to the company.

Online forums are abuzz over the identity of this mystery woman, and focus has turned to ST Electronics - a major IT provider to several government agencies.

In 2009, it clinched a S$34 million contract from SCDF to build a command and control system.

One media report on Thursday said that an ST Electronics staff is assisting with investigations.

ST Electronics denies knowledge of this.
