SINGAPORE — A 32-year-old woman was arrested on Dec 7 for allegedly using criminal force to deter police officers from discharging their duties during a ZoukOut event at Siloso Beach on Dec 4.
The officers were then assisting in the evacuation of party goers after being alerted to a VIP stage that had sunk at the event around 2.20am on Dec 4, said the police in a statement on Thursday (Dec 22).

"While assisting to evacuate the partygoers, police officers reported that they were splashed with an unknown liquid believed to be alcohol."
A media report at the time stated that floorboards in the VIP area sank at about 2am on Dec 4, causing staff and police to move patrons to the beach. The event was affected by heavy rain.
The woman’s identity was established through ground enquiries, and footage from the police drone deployed at the event and body cameras of the officers, said the police.

Police investigations are ongoing.

In their statement, the police did not say why the woman's arrest was announced two weeks after it happened, but they advised the public to abide by the directions of police and security officers during the year-end celebratory events.
Those found guilty of using force to deter a public servant from the discharge of his or her duty can be jailed for up to four years, be fined, or both.
The ZoukOut event is a dusk-to-dawn dance festival that made its comeback in December after a three-year-hiatus from 2019 to 2021.
