Cheap & Quick Cures for Heart Blockage

After 3 years of eating that stuff daily, I'm getting tired of oats :(

That's the inherent weakness of human dietary habit. No tiger ever get tired of any raw flesh, no cattle ever get tired of grazing grass etc.

Only human, get tired or eating this or that, want to change this or that.

There's many ways to prepare chicken, beef, fish,...but only one way with oats. Maybe that's why it's not so popular even though it is healthy

I experimented by adding some chocolate chip to it :p

Taste good as they melt in it

Cocoa contains polyphenols that are good for cardiovascular health, but I bet they included alot of sugar in the chocolate chip.

One of the biggest problems is trying to avoid the sugars, high fructose syrup they include in many foods.

Went to visit the doctor when I noticed that my feet were swelling. It's a condition called endema. In the case of those with heart problem its a sign of the heart not working properly.

Spent half a day getting Xrayed, blood test, EEG, heart Echo in the hospitals in JB. Thank god for the Malaysian health care system. Good & cheap :)

The tests showed I had a close call with another heart attack. I found out that I should have follow-up treatments with chelation & EECP(external ehanced countrpulsation) . Even when EECP & chelation works, you may still need further mainteneance treatments to maintain the positive effects.

In studies, 64% of those of those who undergo 35 hourly sessions , still have the benefits 5 years after the initial treatment. I guess I 'm one of the 36% who need more treatments.

This time around I will only need 4 to 6 treatments of EECP rather than the full 35 hours. The doctor even offered me deep discounts on the EECP treatments because he knows I'm a poor Sporean looking for treatment in Malaysia :D

The doctor presribed a liquid based CoQ10. It's liquid based because it's a high dose form. Got some other medications for hypertension & the heart. Some medications are unavoidable I suppose :(

just in case anyone's curious, after 3 sessions of hourly EECP sessions I felt better & after 10 sessions I feel great.

I wonder how someone in Spore, which doesn't offer EECP? would cope on drugs alone or face another round of expensive angioplasty.

Last time I did EECP was 3 years ago & had forgotten how much it has helped to improve my circulation. I sleep better, lost some weight, ED has improved., but more importantly have no angina pains & able to walk long distances again :D

You missed my point, which is, all animals whether herbivores, canivores or omnivores, can stick to one diet whole life through without getting tired of eating it, only humans crave variety and frequent change of taste and diet.

Chimps really like to eat meat when they can get it. Even know of dogs who liked bread & papaya.

I don't claim to know how all animals think but it's dangerous to make generalisations :)

It's not dangerous, but you're getting to my point. It's the environment, whatever's available make a palate of choices. Humans are economically and technically advanced and therefore have the most choices. Therefore spoilt with and for choices. Basically, all humans and animals can survive and live a long and healthy life on a consistent diet, e.g. pandas only chew bamboos and kaolas only chew eucalyptus, nothing else. But humans have acquired tastes for varieties and frequent changes. Dogs and pigs will anything edible, but can have acquired tastes too if you spoil them enough.

I forgot that the cheapest & quick cure for heart blockage is to eat correctly:eek:

If you don't mind making the necessary lifestyle changes. It means cooking without oils, even avoiding olive oil. A diet without any meat, only veggies, bread,... ,baking, soups, using herbs, etc.

It is of course easier if you are already a vegetarian but for those used to eating meat it's harder of course. However it's become easier in Spore because the so called "food paradise" isn't what it used to be :(

If you need guidance on heart healthy recipes, you can refer to the following paperbacks:

The most natural and healthiest way of eating is of course no cooking at all. Just raw fruits and veggie salads without dressing. I tried this course of diet for half a week and found even Campbell soup heavenly delicious. Our acquired tastes since childhood tell our tastebuds these are bland and boring, get some varieties.

It's not necessary that one must be a vegan to have a bland or boring diet. Ancient Mongolians ate mutton and drink goat's milk only, day in day out, meal in meal out, no fruit, no grain, no veggie, for centuries. Then they discovered in China there're fruit trees, farms and plantations. They tasted the varieties and decided to invade China for more.

Brought up on a consistent diet, the Mongolians were the best warriors and generals of those days, invincible. After enjoying eating all kinds of varieties, the spoils of their victories, they were weakened enough to lose their empire. That tells a story, doesn't it? ;)

No need to get so extreme. One can bake, steam & even fry without using oils with non-stick cookware :) However I'm avoiding teflon cookware because I read somewhere about health issues with teflon.

There many recipes of potatoe, salads, soups, etc which use lots of herbs, wines, yogurt, etc.

The biggest problem is that many guys never learned to cook in school :(
So they have no clue to how to begin.

I've been eating at the "economic rice stalls" but my condition is not getting any better & I notice that after eating at "economic rice" stalls I feel very sleepy even though I'm limiting my selection to fish & vegetables.

I actually kind of like baked potatoes, sweet potatoes, pasta dishes :)

I've decided to experiment more with home cooking using the guidelines & recipes found in the two books.

Steam and boil I know, cleaner and easier and healthier.

Fry with oil, how? Fry is always with oil. Otherwise, how to get it fried?

Bake is out of question without an oven.

By the way, what the issue with teflon?

I should have said saute & not fry, can saute with water or other liquids. Frying is known to destroy nutrients in veggies & should be avoided.

To me an oven is indispensibe because it allows more variety such as making garlic bread, baked potatoe,...

The dangers with teflon is that when over heated it can cause toxic fumes. More about it here:

Since this thread has many health benefitting tips, I thought I'll add my contribution :

On general diets, I've found the Aajonus Vonderplanitz dietary guidelines to be one of the healthiest diets around. Of course, no one single diet is perfect or suitable for everyone. But the Vonderplanitz diet has succeeded in helping many medical conditions where most other diets failed.

My next tip is more specific : regarding hypertension or high blood pressure. I've suffered from it for many years (chronically causing much pain, severe headaches, nausea and vomitting, kidney problems which left untreated would eventually result in kidney failure, and increased risk of strokes) and nothing I tried helped, until one day I discovered Roselle.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hypertension
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antihypertensive_drugs
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hibiscus_tea
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roselle_(plant)

I tried many things, and taking Roselle was the only thing that actually resulted in a permanent, lasting and noticeable improvement in my blood pressure, state of health, and quality of life.

Incredibly, and Gratefully, there is a farm located right here in Lim Chu Kang which grows and sells Roselle - KinYan Agrotech : http://www.kinyan.biz/roselle.html

I hope one day many more people (everywhere around the world) may be made aware of this amazing herb, that can save countless lives (and quality of lives!).

You need oil/fats as part of your diet :oIo:

People with heart problems obviously have too much "oil/fats". Dr. Esselstyn observed that one of his patients suffered from angina pains until he eliminated olive oil from his diet.

The authors of the two books I recommended have observed that their patients condition improved when they eliminate all oil/fats.

For those with doubts should go to Amazon & read some of the experiences of those who are actually following the program

Dr Dean Ornish calls these receipies "heart opening" but if you read the health literature such diets also benefit those with diabetes.

Alot of Sporeans are comming down with heart problems, diabetes,...., Which tells you something of the Spore diet

.

There's a book by Robert E. Kowalski. "The Blood Pressure Cure" He recommends sustain release L-arginine, MegaNatural-BP Grape Seed Extract &.... em?? I never finished browsing the book :)

If anyone wants to get the book can get it here:

I never deny that but what I am saying is that your diet suggests of 0 fat. That is detrimental to your maggoty health.

I already have a serious health problem
So extreme measures are necessary to counter it.

Nothing wrong with adding olive oil once in a while. However if one is healthy one wouldn't consider such an extreme diet.

To be honest it's going to be a problem following a zero fat diet when I'm travelling. Even when I'm in Spore there will be times when I'll want chicken rice or laksa.

Dieting is like exercise, you're likely to stick with it if it's fun. Looking at the various recipes I think I can follow it 80% of the time.
