Cabbie held captive after being robbed by three men
A TAXI driver was blindfolded, tied and taken to an undisclosed location where he was held captive overnight in an air-conditioned room, reported Harian Metro. His captors gave him only a cold drink during his confinement. His ordeal began at around 6am on Tuesday when the 26-year-old was warming up the engine of his taxi at Bukit Bintang.
Three men approached him and asked to be driven to the Puduraya bus terminal. Along the way, one of them held a knife to his throat and demanded that he hand over his valuables. Not satisfied with their meagre loot, the rogue passengers tied his hands and legs and threw him onto the backseat. He was then blindfolded.
The victim claimed he was held until 10am the next day when the three men hauled him into a car and later dumped him by a roadside near Puduraya. A passer-by saw the incident and, after the car had driven off, helped to free the victim. The taxi driver lodged a report at a nearby police base.
