Bystanders help nab thief at Sentosa beach

SINGAPORE - Helpful bystanders who saw a man stealing a mobile phone from a bag at Palawan Beach in Sentosa on Saturday helped to stop the theft, leading to the arrest of the suspect.
A beach-goer spotted the suspect, 42, removing an item from the bag at 5.45pm.
The bystander than alerted another beach-goer and the two approached the suspect together.
When the owner of the bag returned, he ascertained that the mobile phone in the suspect's hand belonged to him.
Sentosa Rangers were alerted and the police were called.
The suspect be produced in court on December 31 on the charges of theft.
He faces a maximum jail term of 3 years, or a fine, or both.
