That is probably the main reason for appointing a new CDF every three years (except Bey Soo Khiang and M.Ong, and LG Winston Choo who served for a very long time).
One of the other reasons, is to give the SAFOS an opportunity to be the CDF.
I speculate that the next CDF could be MG David Neo.
