Bus Lanes...

If more people opt for bicycles, next time bicycles also needs license plate liao, must pay road tax, install ERP system also

Bicycles used to have license plates in the good old days and should have now. Earlier this evening before I came home, I saw an accident. A cyclist crossing an intersection as if his grandfather owned the road. A car and a taxi from two sides trying to avoid knocking him down and ended up colliding with each other instead. Fortunately, nobody was hurt beyond a scare and a few bruises. The car was damaged quite bad though.

When we wanted to turn left, we are supposed to keep left early
but because of bus lane we are forced to turn left abruptly.
My friend kena summon beccause he turned too early into bus
lane.
Sometimes too many buses, hard time to turn left,
the car turning left had to stop and wait for the buses to clear
causing congestion.

That's Right !

I see most drivers avoiding bus lanes even during its non-operational hours.

Guess no driver likes to drive behind a big fat bus or they are just not familiar with the rules?

The bus lane doesn't do any good, most car drivers will have to weave in and out of it because of their crawling speed and also the habit of shunning something that is considered dangerous like getting a ridiculous fine.

Very Lazy Bunch Of Ppl

LTA will not want to work because some voted to keep them. Fines are fine to them because its an additional revenue for not doing any work, isn't that wonderful for them ?

Re: That's Right !

In San Francisco, bus lanes are real bus lanes, not virtual bus lanes as in Singapore. Most buses there are actually electric cabled long trams. There's no way that the buses can use all lanes, i.e. others lanes meant for other traffic. In Singapore, a bus can switch into any lane especially in case of preparing for a turn. There's no traffic jam in San Francisco except for the morning and evening hours in and out of the bridges. Most drivers in downtown San Francisco, including bus and taxi and bus drivers, have gotten accustomed to drive slowly habits.

Re: That's Right !

Jakarta have a right lane specifically for buses, they put barricade between the 1st and 2nd right lane

They engaged quite a few Brits as consultants. That is why you find bus lanes. Go to London. You find bus lanes everywhere.

Our bus lanes are on the wrong side of the road.
Just look at other country with bus lanes. Look no further than Jakarta.

Ya. Very good idea. So that it won't take up a lane meant for cars on this side of the road.
