He made a $600,000 donation to City Harvest Church (CHC) and is the joint owner of the posh Sentosa Cove penthouse that CHC founder Kong Hee and family call home.

Indonesian businessman Wahju Hanafi's name cropped up in the Commissioner of Charities’ statement on Tuesday, after an inquiry into financial irregularities at CHC. Kong, 47, has been charged with being part of a conspiracy to commit criminal breach of trust by an agent.

Mr Wahju (above, left, with Kong Hee), 52, told The New Paper over the phone from Papua New Guinea yesterday that he has been friends with Kong for about 20 years.

I disagree. Believers are taught to be like the Bereans. Instead, these sheeps choose to be lazy and believe in a prosperity heresy that their materialistic ears are itching to hear. Pastor Kong Hee is arrested for misused of the funds in CHC which is meant to be Charity purposes, personally am not a member or supportor of CHC because of some bad experience with CHC.

But let us look at it in another point of view.
Pastor Kong Hee is arrested for certain reason, the CHC members supports him for another reason.
Pastor Kong Hee, standing as their spiritual leader would always be as Holy and Saint just like Jesus Christ to his followers.
The reaction of the CHC members is little out of hand, but as long the judge sentence is not yet confirm, the followers will continue to act as such so there is no point to do or say anything negative to them.

From my point of view, Pastor Kong Hee is another human being. He may have the ability to lead, he have the charisma to charm his followers, a tongue gifted to talk very well. BUT HE IS JUST ANOTHER HUMAN, just like you and me. And human make mistakes.

My stand is simple, Christianity is not at fault - Members of CHC is not at fault.
Kong Hee is the one did the mistake, and no matter what happens he must face the music.

DO you stand and support the very entity that is CHC that was set up, owned and literally controlled from A to Z by Ah Con Hee and his goons now that the truth is obvious?

You can start another wayang to confuse others but simple truth is, when your religious leaders and members start to lead extravagant life style, it all lead to the same things.

Suspicion of 'foul play' started 10 years ago. Only now discovered after 2yr probe. How to explain the 8 yr gap? Pity all the members of CHC. They sure look like fools to me. KH doesn't behave or live life like a normal pastor for sure.

Here in lies the big mystery and really in my opinion, the crux of the matter. Its common knowledge that these 2 live a lavish lifestyle, especially the wife in her US digs. Where did they get the money from? The church itself might be registered as a charity org., but the salary paid to KH and SH is taxable. Even if the cars and houses are not theirs and in the church's name, its considered a taxable benefit. All IRAS has to do is dig up their tax returns and they can determine these two are living beyond their visible means. If they want to know whether SH took the money from the church, they just contact the IRS in the US and see her filings. They will probably find that her music business is reporting a loss. Why wait till now? If a catholic priest had luxury houses and cars in singapore, they would have checked him inside out long ago. These 2 have had a long run in my view.

Bottom line is that church was getting too big and KH was getting too influential. and the PAP HATES COMPETITION. If anyone is going to fleece the public, it will be the PAP, not some damn church. The PAP does not want cult like leaders that people blindly follow. If KH has political ambitions, he could be a threat for sure, if he can muster the church supporters and money. 33000 church goers following KH is a sizeable force that the PAP does not like. For sure, if the church wanted to, they can influence local politics and elections if by no other means than to direct manpower and donations towards a political party. Maybe KH started blabbing about getting into politics and someone tipped the PAP off. Its just natural progression. When you already have influence and money, the next step is power through politics.
