How about just rejoining Malaysia? You can free up all that land used up for those border checkpoints, and vehicles can 'bash through' all they want without fear.

Of course, many of those border guards will lose their jobs, but they weren't doing much to begin with, so nothing of worth is lost.

Why no one pursuit the said Mercedes? Maybe checkpoint officer never experience such situation like the ground commander of SOC said in the COI.Cant imagine if it turn out to be a terrorist,alot of thing can be done in 4hrs.And now we talking about a 65 year old man.Looking at the video,there are motorist nearby,any officer can just hop onto any one there to follow the Mercedes and end up wasting resources for island wide patrol cars to look out for the said Mercedes.A total let down from our men in blue

yes.the driver is real smart.
we could easily noticed the driver slow down the merc before approaching the barrier.
he down switched to gear 1 to increase torque.



either that, he got insider info that the spec of the barrier could only withstand certain torque.
he changed his tyres to withstand shock higher than the barrier.
he run through..he just get away with vandalism charge..rest is bonus

the footage show the timing 45sec to 58sec..it just took 12 secs to breakthrough.
for sure he know the spec of the barrier well

the video is taken using camera phone on the lcd monitor.the hand is shaky.
the voices are those in the command center.
video is taken on playback recording because we can see the bottom right there is a calendar date to choose from.
noticed the investigator tell the operators: " ok, play here " during the first second recording "

Funny, none of the officers took the initiative to fire at least warning shots and followed by shooting at the car to disable the vehicle. As part of the enhanced new security measures, a prominent sign board should be put up at the checkpoint to warn motorists that officers may open fire at any driver for failing to stop for ICA and custom checks. Also, none of the officers gave chase after the fleeing vehicle. What a joke.
