2. Picking a fight
3. Harassment

In the same breath, you must be pissed off, we know. If you're, deal with it. What do you mean by "us"? Are you delusional? There is no "us", but all your clones.

Let me remind you to use the right word. It's "your clones" and not "your cronies".

Frankly, you're right in gist. Anyone given infraction power should not abuse it or else action should be taken to take the power away.

Or else, this forum will be like a court full of eunuchs, all waging their own power base and wagging the infraction wand indiscriminately at anyone they disagree with in discussions. No good in the long run. In fact, no good in the short haul too.

those days we had some very deadly piranhas but it was all fun....and high class fun and entertainment...damned shiok! and we didn't see any low down longkang mother father expletives....and if there were any vulgarities , it was done quite nicely too.

Well Boss, you're the exception, not the norm, I think. Not surprisingly, getting positive affirmation enlivens the spirit and sustains the vitality of the discussion but alas, this phase of evolution in forum etiquette is beaten dead by the background noises and if you read between the lines, it's more or less like an echo chamber, repeating itself.

The rot started to take place when political affiliations seep into the forum, unlike in the past, if there is a social issue discussed and debated, it's strictly a platform for social activism, not political activism. Oh well..nowadays, we breeze through and make quick conclusions as the short fuses in this forum can easily derail any thread and cut it into smithereens. Having a quickie is preferred to a slow hand and easy touch.

The forum is no better or worse than before. If you want a more intellectual responses, the politics folder is a step up from this one. The cafe is more rowdy and that's the way I like it. :p

Really, my memory must have failed me then, but since when was there any real political party back in 1999/2000/2001 era? PKMS? Berisan Socialis? I think in the past, we talk about social issues, but not tainted with political affiliations. For example, it's a PAP vs WP vs SDP vs whatever party kind of disparaging and hostile discussions nowadays, not?

Can't really recall the specifics of the past. In a way, I think you read me wrongly, I abhor political discussions, so the politics folder is not for me and really boss, let's be frank, since when can one fetch much intellectual responses from a folder filled with politicians? But I guess, if it's not in the political folder, it surely will not be at the cafe either.

OIC, got it. That was 2005/2006 and onwards. I did see that Chee Soon Juan had registered with Delphi and has a paid account, besides some others in the fringe group and then the anonymous WP baru shadow players came on board and of course the YPAP, which came later when the forum migrated to vb and YPAP is more active at 3in1, but that was in 2008 onwards. Since then till now in 2012, I've not really been checking the scene so regularly.
