Yes, I guess, weight also plays a part to bring down BP. With height at 171cm and weight at 72kg. Understand it is slightly on the high side of being over weight.
Just had a light lunch of porridge with fresh veg (stir fried), eggs, home cook. Very nice feeling when taking the porridge. Going to continue with it and keep way from spicy food too.

Must try to bring down the weight to more acceptable level, say 65kg, within 3 months, with exercise, maybe swimmimng and jogging, though after doing it, the knees would feel painful.

While have done brisk walking, finds that it does not break down into sweat and the kick of breathing deeply, unlike jogging.
Have tried taking those Glucosamaine for joint health, but don't seem to help.
Any suggestion would be appreciated.

1.71 and 72kg is considered heavy? I am 1.73 and 90kg. Did a dexa scan and my body fat at 18%. So should be healthy.

Anyway, best way to lose weight is to carry weights, not traditional cardio.

Did a jogging yesterday evening, felt great too. Just half hour brisk walk and half hour jog.
Came back sweating like cow, but slept well.

Not really a carry weight guy, too old to start Liao.
Have to go gym and stuff. Too much hassle though.

Jogging is much easier, feel like going, just put on shoes and off we go.

you don't want to be too low below 90/60 as you'll be suffering from hypotension. optimal is a range and it means there's a high limit and a low limit. stating that optimal is anything 120/80 or below is misleading and incorrect.

My 2 cents worth. You are never too old to start. No one talks about carry heavy weights.

Just remember that a large portion of a person's metabolic rate is determined by a person's muscle mass. When you do long periods of cardio, body goes into catabolic stage and some muscles may be broken down for energy. Over long period of time, total muscle mass shrinks and you will find it tougher and tougher to maintain current weight. On top of this, when we past 21, every year a small portion of our muscle degenerates and this will compound with your cardio exercise further.

in sg if you're an elite you must join the attas cycling bandwagon by donning thousand-dollar cycling wear, buying multi-thousand dollar bicycle, and showing off your bike and wear by drinking the most expensive venti and lounging at the nearest starfucks. rarely is there real cycling in sg except for stupid ang mo's riding peloton on the expressways early in the morning.

I am atas and rich. But I indulge in exercises such as jogging and brisk-walking. I am not a fan of splashing out thousands of dollars for brompton bikes or expensive gym memberships.
