are taking an interest in what the govt has to say and comparing them to what is really happening through the alternative medias, and as usual, the govt always comes out short...[/COLOR]

Like the targeting of The Emerald Buddha, for example ?

How bizarre and absurd that claim must have been and that piece of news has been hushed up since but the genie is out of the bottle, and yes....The government has been a liar all along...

What mileage could Abhisit gets out from such claim ?
Seemed his right hand doesn't knows what his left hand been doing anymore. :D

The man arrested on allegations of being the webmaster of an anti-monarchy website NorporchorUSA wants to be transferred from a prison zone for convicts of serious crimes.

On 28 April, Thanthawut Thaweewarodomkul, who has been detained at the Bangkok Remand Prison and reportedly assaulted by inmates, said that the situation had improved with closer supervision by wardens. However, as he was only a defendant, he should have been kept in a zone for the people on remand, not in Zone 8 for serious convicts.

He also hoped to be granted bail so that he could look after his 8-year-old child who he cared for as a single parent and who was now being taken care of by his friend.

Thanthawut, 37, allegedly the webmaster of www.norporchorusa.com and www.norporchorusa2.com under the alias ‘Red Eagle’, was arrested on 1 April in Bangkok for offences under the lèse majesté law and the 2007 Computer Crimes Act.

<!-- Google Dtail Ads --> It might have been coincidental, but the timing of Thaksin Shinawatra to return from his "death" was almost perfect. In a flurry of local and international media interviews, he has unceremoniously repelled continual rumours that he had died last week - and given the red shirts much needed breathing space.

The public backlash over the Chulalongkorn Hospital invasion had pinned the red shirts against the ropes, but "Thaksin is alive" may prove sexy enough to distract some from the controversy.

If Thaksin's disappearance from the red shirts' stage - his last video link was on April 9 - was ambiguous, his re-emergence seemed quite out of the blue.

Nation Group reporter Naya Jaikawang did not expect much when she made a phone call to interview Pheu Thai MP Pracha Prasopdee, one of the MPs closest to Thaksin, to ask him about latest reports that Thaksin had ordered Pheu Thai MPs to re-mobilise people to support the anti-government protesters.

Naturally, the topic of "Is Thaksin still alive" came up. Pracha said he just talked to Thaksin on Saturday and, unexpectedly, gave Naya his phone number.

At 3pm yesterday, she called the number, without expecting much, and someone "who sounded undoubtedly Thaksin" answered.

"I'm from Nation Group sir," she said. "Can I talk to you?"

"Oh.. of course you can. But my plane is taking off any minute now. Can you call again in a few hours?" the voice said. She agreed and the brief conversation ended.

At 6.50pm, she dutifully called again. The same familiar voice answered.

"Are you Thaksin?" she asked. "Yes I am. And I am not a ghost," he replied.

The man acknowledged that there had been rumours about him since he suspended his video contact with his supporters. Thaksin said he did not suffer from any disease. "I'm very healthy and have been travelling a lot. My latest health check only yielded a little high cholesterol because I haven't exercised much," he said.

When asked why his family members were wearing black while travelling overseas, he said he had not seen his ex-wife for two years.

The interview came hot on the heels of his talks with international media. In a brief conversation with The Straits Times on Saturday, Thaksin said he was very much alive and used the same "You are not talking to a ghost" joke. Emerging Markets website on Saturday also published an exclusive telephone interview in which the ousted Thai leader slammed the Abhisit government and said there were too many red-shirts for the Abhisit regime to kill.

Thaksin told Naya he would not propose anything to the government. However, he added: "It would be better if we could change our attitudes and talk together. We should not take advantage of each other and stop treating each other badly."

He also asked the government not to bring the issue of the monarchy into the conflict. "The monarchy is the highest institution for Thai people so the government should not link it to this political fighting," he said.

Thaksin claimed he was not behind the recent bloody turmoil, but he said he was monitoring developments in Thailand closely. He distanced himself from "<leo_highlight style="border-bottom: 2px solid rgb(255, 255, 150); background-color: transparent; background-image: none; background-repeat: repeat; background-attachment: scroll; background-position: 0% 50%; -moz-background-size: auto auto; cursor: pointer; display: inline; -moz-background-clip: -moz-initial; -moz-background-origin: -moz-initial; -moz-background-inline-policy: -moz-initial;" id="leoHighlights_Underline_0" onclick="leoHighlightsHandleClick('leoHighlights_Underline_0')" onmouseover="leoHighlightsHandleMouseOver('leoHighlights_Underline_0')" onmouseout="leoHighlightsHandleMouseOut('leoHighlights_Underline_0')" leohighlights_keywords="men%20in%20black" leohighlights_url_top="http%3A//shortcuts.thebrowserhighlighter.com/leonardo/plugin/highlights/3_1/tbh_highlightsTop.jsp?keywords%3Dmen%2520in%2520black%26domain%3Dwww.nationmultimedia.com" leohighlights_url_bottom="http%3A//shortcuts.thebrowserhighlighter.com/leonardo/plugin/highlights/3_1/tbh_highlightsBottom.jsp?keywords%3Dmen%2520in%2520black%26domain%3Dwww.nationmultimedia.com" leohighlights_underline="true">men in black</leo_highlight>" blamed for the murder of troops on April 10, saying "If they want to accuse me about this, it will never end."

The political fight was no longer about him, Thaksin reiterated. However, his re-emergence, albeit in the form of telephone interviews, could be what the red shirts need. The movement seems rudderless without him, and it remains to be seen whether the proof that he is still alive can fix the heavy damage caused by their act of insanity at the Chulalongkorn Hospital on Thursday.

For one thing, the hospital incident seemed to give him discomfort. When Naya asked him about it, he said he did not know details and suddenly hung up.

Khorat private commits suicide out of stress after order to disperse red shirts in Bangkok
Mon, 03/05/2010 - 20:00

On 1 May, Private Thiwanont Thienthes, 23, was reported dead at his house in Phimai District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province. Dressed in full military uniform, he was found to have hung himself from a tamarind tree in the backyard.

His mother, Wassana, 52, said that he was a recruit attached to the 1st Special Warfare Training Company, Thanarat Camp, in Kaeng Krachan district, Phetchaburi province, and was due to be demobilized on 1 Nov 2010.

Given a week’s leave on 24 April, he returned home, looking normal, and regularly followed news of the red shirts, she said.

However, when he was due to go back to camp, he complained to his mother about his fear of being sent to disperse the demonstration in Bangkok. In the late afternoon of 30 April, he put on his uniform and asked for 400 baht for the bus fare back to camp.

While his mother thought that her son was on his way back to camp, her neighbours found the body hanging from the tree.

He should have just desert the army and join the Redshirts for the good fight.
That would be more justifiable.

Townhouse raid nets war weapons
By THE NATION
May 4, 2010
A predawn raid by an Army-police team on a Soi Onnuj 17 townhouse in Bangkok's Suan Luang district yesterday found war weapons and Molotov cocktails allegedly linked to the red-shirt demonstrations, Department of Special Investigation chief Tharit Pengdit said.
The DSI team said two occupants were responsible for shooting at an Army helicopter - injuring a soldier on board - while distributing leaflets for red-shirt demonstrators at the Phan Fa Bridge on April 10. They have allegedly been lying low in the house since.

Two suspects - Surachai Nilsopa, 33, and Chatree Srijinda, 28 - were arrested in the raid and taken to the Centre for the Resolution of Emergency Situation for questioning.

Authorities also seized an M16 rifle along with 480 rounds of ammunition, a carbine-1 rifle with 115 rounds, five AKA rifles along with 247 rounds, three M67 grenades, five M26 grenades, four M79 grenades, 20 giant firecrackers, 18 shotgun cartridges, several |slingshots along with glass beads, 107 Molotov cocktails and items with red-shirt symbols, as well as a Honda Civic car with fake licence plates.

The evidence is being submitted to forensic tests, Tharit said, adding that the weapons and the red-shirt symbols initially convinced authorities of the links to the Democratic Alliance against Dictatorship (DAAD) demonstration.

DAAD co-leader Natthawut Saikua, commenting on the arrests, said red-shirt guidelines prevented demonstrators from using weapons. But if the arrests showed clear evidence of wrongdoing, then the case should proceed in accordance with legal procedures.

However, he said anyone trying to say this was the DAAD's doing would have to have evidence.

His group had nothing to do with the arms cache, and the two suspects' names were not on the list of DAAD guards.

Natthawut also said they found a Facebook profile of a person with the same name - Surachai Nilsopa - with material opposing the House dissolution and ousted prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra.

Natthawut also took the opportunity to call for the DSI to investigate the death of 21 civilians in the April 10 clash between soldiers and red-shirt demonstrators.

ArbiSHIT is buying time for his side.

Anyway he already has blood on his hands for the rest of his life.

He will have to look over his shoulders also for the rest of his life. I see him returning to the US or Britain forever.

:o:o:o:o:o

the Chulalongkorn Hospital story sickens

headline: Military Invades Hospital

the hospital coexisted with the red rally for some weeks, in-patient and out-patient services as normal

there were statements a few days before of shooting at the red rally from the 5th floor of a Chula building and the building is placed with an excellent view and access to the rally stage and site generally

but only barbarians and heathens would launch an attack from a hospital... so the red leaders left the hospital alone

then the hospital administration started moving patients out, then some soldiers were spotted

the reds paranoia was strained, they had to do something, so they searched and they and witnesses saw soldiers running away

then the media claimed that patients were being moved because of the reds

and the reds gave in, apologised and cleared space for the hospital and the government agreed no reds, no soldiers

now there are no patients and the soldiers have moved in ready for their assault on the red rally

the cunning military controlled government helped by the gullible media have won this move

no doubt drinks and celebrations at 11th Infantry (Abhisit's new homeaway from home)

RATCHAPRASONG, MAY 3, 2010: After two days of apologizing over the inspection of Chulalongkorn Hospital by red-shirt protesters, United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) core leader Jatuporn Prompan today fired a broadside at the Thailand government and hospital director Adisorn Patradul.

A Thai army soldier inside the grounds of Chulalongkorn Hospital.

A Thai army soldier inside the grounds of Chulalongkorn Hospital on April 29, 2010 wearing the hospitals distinctive pink flip-flops

Mr. Jatuporn said that since the inspection of the hospital by a handful of red-shirt guards led by Payap Panket had become public there had been numerous people come forward, Thai’s and foreigners, to verify that Thai troops had not only been in the hospital, but had also shot at red-shirt protesters.

“Online forums around the world now have numerous reports from eyewitnesses to last Saturday’s events, including photographs of soldiers in the grounds of Chulalongkorn Hospital wearing the hospitals distinctive pink slippers.

“These reports by independent people, along with the photographs that have now been posted online around the world, show that:

• “Chulalongkorn Hospital has not remained independent and neutral as it claims

• “the evacuation of patients by the hospital was nothing more than a publicity stunt orchestrated by a desperate government to discredit the peaceful red-shirts protest

• “the red-shirt protesters actions was in direct response to the government breaching international conventions and placing troops inside the hospital

• “hospital director Adisorn Patradul has not been open and truthful about the presence of armed troops in his hospital

• “the continued demands by hospital director Adisorn Patradul for red-shirt protesters to clear Rajadmiri Road and Lumpini Park of protesters back to Sarasin Rd. is nothing more than politicizing the situation of the sick, frail and elderly who cannot afford treatment at private hospitals used by the Bangkok elite.

“Since our protest has started it has followed a peaceful path. Red-shirt protesters asked to inspect the hospital after they were fired upon by Thai troops who were not only in the hospital grounds, but also in hospital buildings that had already been cleared of patients.

“Instead of concentrating on providing state-owned medical care to the poor, the sick and the elderly, Adisorn Patradul has engaged in a political campaign to smear the reputation of red-shirt protesters locally and internationally.

“In showing our willingness to facilitate the operation of the hospital protesters have moved their barricade to provide free and unhindered access to the hospital entrance. Despite this Adisorn Patradul continues to demand more.

“While we regret any feeling of intimidation patients or staff may have felt, the proof is now available for the world to see that this government and the administrators of this hospital have not been truthful in their explanation or description of events leading up to Payap Panket asking to inspect the hospital last Saturday.

“Lets not forget that in 2008 Chulalongkorn Hospital was the first hospital in Thailand to say that it would not treat police injured in the dispersal of People’s Alliance for Democracy (PAD) protesters illegally occupying Parliament House.

“The comments made at the time by Dr Suthep Koncharnwit and which were widely reported and remain a matter of public record were: ‘Today, the medical team of Chulalongkorn Hospital will not give assistance to police officers injured from the clashes with PAD supporters. This is a social measure to show that doctors and nurses condemn the violent actions’”.

“In 2008 Doctor Suthep Kolcharnwit said ‘the boycott of police was a measure to denounce the police’s use of excessive violence against the protesters and that Chulalongkorn doctors would seek cooperation from doctors of other hospitals to boycott police as well’”.

Mr Jatuporn called on the administrators and staff of Chulalongkorn Hospital to stop meddling in politics and to reopen the hospital and deliver full medical services for the poor, elderly and sick members o society who are unable to afford medical services at the elite-owned and run private hospitals throughout Bangkok.

The proof of the governments illegal actions are now online around the world for everyone to see. The government might try and block websites and external media from being seen by Thai people, but internationally the world is now seeing that it was the government and not the red-shirts who broke international conventions”, he said.
