I agree that in the 70s and 80s, top australian universities such as Melbourne and NSW were among the best in Asia, even top scholars in Singapore were sent to Monash during that era.

But times have changed. Today, our GPA 3.5 local poly grad is certainly of better training than a GPA 3.5 bachelor grad from Monash university in the same discipline.

Please do not make sweeping statements like Singapore fail at networking cos not all. Our PAP leaders had been networking very hard to attract the rich and unknown/unquestioned amount of money into our country making it the world's most expensive. Without excellent networking skills, they won't accomplish that.

you r right. with their networking skills, they were able to buy high and sell low and their excellent acc0unting skills have not only dented the national reserve but make a reputation of being the best hole anybody ever lost.
