By Gemma Daley
Dec. 2 (Bloomberg) -- Singapore Airlines Ltd. will be shut out of flying from Australia to the U.S. west coast, the Australian newspaper reported, citing a government statement to be released tomorrow,
Qantas Airways Ltd., United Airlines and Virgin Blue Holdings Ltd.’s V Australia, which will start flying the trans- Pacific in February, will remain the only carriers on the route, the paper said.
The statement also rejects calls for foreign airlines to operate on Australian domestic routes and will maintain a 49 percent cap on Qantas’s foreign ownership, the paper said.
