ask question regarding ceiling fan

my ceiling fan went dead.
remove and found the capacitor is not bloated or blown.
is a 2uF capacitor.but tested on multi meter show only 1uF.
buy a new 1 from sim lim and measure confirm have 2 uF befire mounting fan.

when switch on, the motor still did not spin.

will the speed regulator is faulty as well?
i checked got 230V going into the ceiling fan terminal for all 4 speed.
what cause the original 2uF capacitor to be depleted?

don't need to solder lah. twist wire and cap will do. there are 2 voltages: 450vac and 250vac. 450v has 2 wires. 250v has at least 3 wires (some have 4 while others have up to 5). have to get the right one.

Your '3, 4 and 5 wires' sounds so much like the GRCs in Singapore.
