Later they became Ministars, and supported policies that continue to suck from the taxpayers?

What's the logic? Have they forgotten who helped them to get to where they are now?

It is the people of SGP!! How could they repay them by supporting policies that will add more pain to the people?

There is a flaw in every process - for myself I was a scholar too - when the airplane ticket is paid for, study in overseas uni, allowance, single room when you can bring in other scholars to screw at 19 years old during cold winter etc... why not apply for it? Where I worked had a fcuked up system, so I quit, left the country. Can't can me an ingrate, can you?
