No need architect to explain....just go into any bank and tell them your HDB fully paid up and now you need an overdraft to be secured against your fully paid up HDB flat and see how much the bank can give you.

HDB residents don't have to pay for their blocks to be repainted or to have the greenery pruned regularly unlike the condo residents. It's expensive to live in a condo because the condo residents have to form their own town council to take care of the condo's maintenance.

Yes indeed and the hdb conservancy charges are very cheap after all sorts of rebates by govt whereas private property owners don’t enjoy a cent of such rebates.
