It is actually a great idea, i only went there a couple of times so no expert. Best wishes, the whole world
is our oyster. (I probably shouldn't say too much in case people think i am now an agent in Taiwan too.
There is such a thing as a free lunch, just depends on who is serving the food)
Pretty nice, some parts not so but mostly good. Other than some occasional disasters and conscription,
it is quite good actually. Even conscription is cut down quite a bit these days.
Food can be really quite reasonable except certain town area and transport ok but life as a pedestrain there
is challenging. Drinks, such a wide variety, good Japanese sake (pity i don't drink) too and onsen too
Cars are at good prices. Entertainment too. It will be an easier move if one reads traditional
script well.
For some reason, I somehow can read traditional scripts pretty readily from young so had no issues while i
was there.
Their gao tie (high speed railway) is really good though. There was a "hao fang" website, a little bit on the high
side for us at that time as i was looking to invest there as well. Its quite good as a guide but in mandarin mainly.

Now with SGD higher against their currency, this is truly good to think about.
This will help to calculate on pricing:

You are everywhere forum wise and international exploits. I'm having one leg in the grave and yet the furthest I went is Taiwan. My bucketlist is Monte Carlo driving the Aston DBS but I think not in this lifetime.
I dont understand why people can look at the whole situation with such optimism...Taiwan is losing it's technology edge, they are been lured into China to set up manufacturing and what happen to their jobless rate in taiwan? HTC, Acer, Asus are living dead...if u just go there as a tourist, they will welcome you, if you wan to imigrate there, i suggest you go to China...
Im trying to earn US dollar online n paying Taiwan currency. But Singaporeans only have 30 days there as tourist.
Taiwan is a good country and the accommodation, hotels and restaurants are bit expensive then other. But there are a problem with Taiwan. It has lots of pollution and over crowded.
Ya agree....unless you dun mind your kids become ah tongs or ATBs......chance of dying in some conflict also increasesnever emigrate to any country with china's hungry eyes fixated on her. any island in the south china sea is trouble for the next 50 years.

Hi Arthur, it has quite a few areas which are really clean and not so crowded but yes, change and development is coming to a lot of areas especially when transport is now so much improved over there. Still, not a bad place to go and retire.
