Does Malaysia need to bear arms to crush Singapore? The answer is so obvious.

Actual @JohnTan wht rank ah? Higher or lower than one time forummer Goh Meng Seng?
A 73 yo got serve NS? Sure or not? Tat time got NS meh. Want to lie also need to use brainI've successfully persuaded Pioneer Sinkies from the old 5SIR to join the mobilisation for war if jiuhu continues to threaten our sovereignty.
One Facebook user Desmond Tan has uploaded a photo and a caption to share an incident that happened during a Meet-the-People session recently.
In his Facebook post on Dec. 10, Tan said that he met an elderly man who asked his Member of Parliament (MP) to write a letter to Mindef.
According to Tan, the 73-year-old requested for himself and his 5SIR buddies to be mobilised if Singapore goes to war.
There was no mention of the constituency.
And it is assumed Tan was helping out at the MPS.
“Unity of our people will see us through”
In Tan’s post, he said he does not think that we will and does not wish to see Singapore go to war.
However, he added that it is “not about how many fighter jets or RSS we have”.
Instead it is “the unity of our people”, ranging from 18 to 80 years old, that will “see us through”.
Military Reserve?
The reason for the elderly man’s appeal is highly unusual and probably made in the heat of the moment.
In Singapore, male individuals are phased into Military Reserve (MR) after fulfilling at least seven High Key In-Camp Training and 10 active ORNS (Operationally-Ready National Service) years.
Upon phasing into MR, one will no longer be called up for ORNS activities.
However, they may still be activated for operational service up to their statutory age: 50 and 40 years old for Officers and WOSEs (Warrant Officers, Specialists and Enlistees) respectively.

And you think your post is smart or funny?
Just like your PAP masters - arrogant stupidity without careful consideration of likely repercussion.

U mean he wants to be cannon fodder? That is good. More useful n cheaper than soylent GreenA 73 year old sinkie is still willing to bear arms for Singapore. Are you oppies as loyal as the pioneer sinkies from 5 SIR?
KNN what happened after the 50s and 60s protest still lan lan served it KNN means the willing to serve outnumbered the protestors just like the 70% KNNThe National Service (Amendment) Bill was passed in parliament on 14 March 1967, making National Service (NS) compulsory for all 18-year-old male Singapore citizens and permanent residents.[1] Some 9,000 male youths born between 1 January and 30 June 1949 became the first batch of young men to be called up for NS.[2]
NS was not a new concept when it was implemented. It had been introduced by the British colonial government in 1954 at the height of the Communist Emergency in Malaya.[3] At the time, many Chinese Middle School students strongly opposed NS, resulting in the outbreak of deadly riots in 1954 and 1955.[4]
There was also some resistance towards the introduction of NS in 1967, with the most serious anti-NS protest occurring on 27 March 1967, when 300 protestors held street demonstrations at New Bridge Road, Rochor Canal Road and Kim Keat Road.[5] These anti-NS demonstrations in 1967 were, however, fewer and smaller in scale compared with the anti-NS riots in the 1950s.[6]
The first batch of Singaporean men to be called up for NS received their registration reminders – in the form of pink cards – on 17 March 1967.[7] These men were required to register for NS at any of the four registration centres located at Kallang Camp, and the district offices in Katong, Serangoon and Bukit Panjang. Full-time students in government and government-aided schools were not required to register at these centres as they would be registered by their schools.[8]
Registration for NS was conducted over a period of 16 days from 28 March to 18 April 1967.[9]At the end of the registration exercise, around 96 percent of the 9,428 men expected to register had done so.[10] The names of those who failed to register were submitted to the police for arrest.[11] These NS “registration evaders” were liable to be convicted and sentenced to a jail term of six months or a S$2,000 fine, or both.[12]

KNN our NS fate was already sealed back in 27mar1967 when only 300 protested out of 9000 being called up. That was only a pathetic 3.3% worse than current estimated 30% (using erection as a guide) KNN there is no explanation as to why sinkies allow gangster to operate KNNI believe you served national service too. Did you have a choice? Would you be WILLING if you had a choice?
You had not experienced what is being forced to submit. Why was LKY caricatured as a Chief Gangster?
What we post can, at times, be very hurtful to others.
