The money will be gone to waste if another suicide case is reported again at Bedok Reservoir in the coming future...

to those delusuion ppl even those money are wasted ..they are still happy . thats the power of religion dirty money .

If I'm sg pool business dev mgr, i would suggest to open odds for suicides. Something like week ending 20 Oct, 1 Jump mrt odds payout X10 , 2 jumps X20, 1 reservoir will be low odds cos consider fav 1.65, 1 bridge is likely now so X3...etc...sure can make $.Further implementation could be Under or Over.
For match fixing one can instigate their friends or acquaintance to jump just before closing dates to win .

I never said they are heroes, but I believe that they are brave. Its hard to kill oneself. If they do it cos they dont want to be a burden to their family, it shows their intentions. if they run away from their problems its their decision. Some problems are not worth facing. And life is not as wonderful as its made up to be. If they feel its too much they end it, its their decision.

However assholes who pretend want to commit suicide and than want to be save and seek attention. they are the real cowards.

Facing problems might not be brave, it can be stupid. Depending on what the problem is......

Yes you are right, but ST will not do it as it will show how bad things are and PAP will say its good etc. Maybe the Oppo MPs can bring this up..

Frankly, if people wanna kill themselves..there issnt alot you can do to stop it..and honestly,
the watery solution is cleaner and safer than jumping from tall buildings...which can cause collateral
damage..they could land on passers by, cars, and other peoples valuables.

So actually we should keep Reservoirs open for these people.

rather than highlighting the suicide attempts, the press shld instead, highlight the various avenues for help available so that those who require aid, be it counselling / financial aid or whatsoever, have an alternative.

also, make "asking for aid" not as a shameful / taboo....the grassroots shld make this option accessible so that those who nid aid could do so with ease. You can have a stringent assessment criteria but the door should be accessible - this is lacking for the moment.

Of course they are afraid that they will find out that the mess is caused by our govt policies...putting lots of stress to the ordinary man on the street with its high living cost and overcrowding...Not to mention the two casinos...the twin entrapement pillars that cause all the recent socail ills.
