Another poor fella at Bras Basah, how can we make a difference, please suggest

find them a job . you cant feed them forever . instead of giving him fish everyday , give him a rod and teach him how to fish .

In the past this solution is very simple, give the person a set of tools ( fishing rod), teach that person to work that trade; the rest is up to the person....

But, you give the person a fishing rod, that person have to fish in a pond, controlled by the MIW's, who demand an entrance fee, training costs, upkeep costs...and the number of fishes you can fish.

Not only that...you must a MEMBER..and pay fees...

show them who you are helping..

collect donations from company direct...

find more volunteers to help you....

walla....you have your non profit organisation...

do report back the status of the people you have help to the donors..

so they feel good about it..

stay legit, otherwise you will be busted later on......

First, is to get these people back on their feet again, like you have said, give them a set of tools; but they must be fed first.

You do not preach to a hungry person...

Get these people on their feet, give them the tools, if they can fend on their own with those tools; give them the incentive to do so. Some, can only make use of those tools, by working for bothers..not all are the same.:p

I went to Bras Basah Complex again today after work

Last time I saw a hungry old man and offered him my food which he finished in two minutes

This time it was another old fella but he was in a wheelchair selling tissue. He said he fell off the ladder while doing some installation maintenance because he was old and knees weak. Now he is stuck in wheelchair

I bought some tissue but I am also a low wage worker. What can we low wage earner do to help poor people. Any suggestion so we can pool our idea and make a difference

I gave you a suggestion in the other thread you started. I was not being cynical or non-consructive.
Ask the guy if he voted for pap.
If his answer is yes, tell him to ask one of the ministers for help.
If his answer is no, help him the best that you can and tell him to ask everyone he knows not to vote for them.
If his answer is "I don't care", tell him to care more and perhaps he will receive more help.
A little harsh perhaps, but more effective in the long run.
