Another BKE accident involving 2 lorries and a motorbike early this morning. Travel safe

Motorcyclists are extremely vulnerable. Drivers must practice due diligence to not harm them.
Problem is Motor bike can fly at 120-140km/h … u drive at BKE during peak hours and experience for yourself

Some bikers also like to hide between 2 heavy vehicles and sudden acceleration when they see your car coming

If can use driver due diligence to resolve this problem, we should implement Auto Driving cars liao

Robot and Computer definitely has superior environment awareness and much faster reaction time than human

This due diligence is only useful when the reaction time to avoid accident is humanly possible when everyone follow speed limit and traffic rules

I drive to and from work 5 days a week using the PIE, and have witnessed the aftermath of many accidents involving motorbikes. Riders always come off worse from such incidents, so drivers have to do our part. I know that many bikers are reckless and love to straddle 2 lanes and squeeze between vehicles, but the majority do ride safely.

Ban the motor bike lah

Or

Open one extra Bike only lane at the side just like in Kedah… Ambulance and fire engine also can use

If you ban the motorbike Singapore's economy would grind to a slow crawl. Who's going to do all the jobs that Malaysians commute to Singapore to perform daily? More Banglas?

Lane splitting is the problem. I see it every day on the BKE and SLE - almost always M'sian bikers riding at hight speed in between vehicles. Changing lanes becomes a hazard for car drivers because you don't know when a bike would suddenly appear out of nowhere and collide with your car.

In many First World nations, lane-splitting is illegal. Our Traffic Police just refuses to ban it, despite mounting calls.
some US states already approve laNe splitting. But i think in thailand not allowed.

Many big cities in china ban motirbikes from city roads. You can only use electric bikes on bike lanes.

First of all, we should not allow them to come in n out so easy just like 1990s

The foreign workers work here and live here can help to generate better domestic rental, retail and service market…. Only like that there is no leakage

I really love your business sense Boss
I will happily work for u

It's a simple measure really for TP and LTA to implement.

Only allow motorcycles with less than 100cc to enter Singapore for those with Work Visas.

And make it expensive by mandatory buying insurance in Singapore because most of these idiots have no insurance cover!

A 50cc 2 stroke can easily get to 80kph. Your suggestion will do absolutely nothing to save lives.

Add to that the fact that most fatal motorbike accidents are caused by the rider being run over after he falls off which can happen for a variety of reasons. Speed is only a portion of the equation.

Malaysia has phased out two strokes.

The cc limit is not for their benefit. It's so that they cannot speed and weave and be a nuisance for me. And will limit damage to others n case of an accident.

They can die for all I care.

An 80cc 4 stroke can easily do 80kph too. You don't need to go fast to skid and fall off. All it takes is a moment of inattention.

80kmh is good for me. Anything that limits their speed is good.

The energy that is in a big bike at 80kmh is exponentially higher than an 80cc ones.

The problem with lane splitting is that bikers think that it gives them the freedom of drifting into either lane when drivers have to be alert in order not to collide into them.
