Pickpocket or theft from person is a crime, a seizable offence. Why no arrest, only the police can explain. Ang mo committed disorderly behavior at the minimum. Also, a seizable offence and yet no arrest? Very strange police action or inaction.

While tcss with some friends at the club this afternoon..... this lawyer friend commented the ang moh's action is excessive and unwarranted even if the woman had committed theft. He oso mentioned several ways for the woman to seek redress or compensation against the ang moh :p

Singapore is still a country where you can manipulate the law to work for you. :p

I think in situation like this, AWARE should stand up for the rights of the woman that was being manhandled, since that's what that organisation supposed to do right... Fight for the rights of woman...
While it may be a fact that no one really knows what happened, but the fact that the ang moh use of excessive force on a woman is already uncalled for... more so if both of them are total stranger... Does that mean, now any guy can just start manhandle any woman whom they suspect of stealing....
Sadly... its either because the guy was an ang moh or maybe AWARE only helps their members only, thus no sound or nothing from AWARE....

Though I fear to think if the guy was a local... I wonder what will happen to him....

However, I think the Ang Mo is using excessive force. He was lucky he did not meet those few Ah Bengs who were shown on on the youtube confronting an Ang Mo and his Singapore Chinese girlfriend.

Come to think of it, this girl should have shouted "molest" then start tearing her unties. This Ang Mo will die under the heroic hands of all N.S. boys, who will be rewarded by this PRC black hole for sure.

I forgot to mention, 2 years ago, I've spoken to a few relatives who're SCDF & SPF regulars during a christmas visit. They said that serious assaults on angmos're not that rare in $pore. Most of the time, it'll be kept quiet & out of the papers because the powers-that-be don't want angmo tourists & ftrash to have a negative image of the "$afety" & "foreigner-friendly" image of $pore.

Also, reports of spousal abuse're very common in the expat households (angmo husband w/ sporn & sometimes, angmo wife) nowadays becoz the type of angmo migrating here are much poorer than previously.
